Betcatalyst is the only service I follow, theya are having a poor run last weeek or so , but I can honestly say it is the best service I have belonged to, I have made over £3K profit in about 5 months.
Yesterdays result doesn’t really tell the full story.
The bet does say £20 EW – LOST which is true
but the bet was £20EW on a 50-1 shot that finished 4th and was 3rd only a furlong out, so was very close to a decent collection.
Keep an eye on this, it will come up trumps mark my words
Hi Neil,
I do agree with you that the service has certainly delivered in the past (+ £4000 since September) and undoubtedly will in the future. As the reviewer I have to impartially record as it happens but you are right, the horse opened at 50/1 and finished just out of the places at 40/1.
I do like the reasoning the Bet Catalyst team provide for all of their selections which appear to be generally long odds. I think this particular selection, whilst back down in the weights, there were still a number of negatives which were probably reflected in the horse’s price as follows:
1). The horse generally performs better on much softer going than was in evidence yesterday.
2). Form record at the course over the last 7+ years reads F473PUPU.
3). The horse, in 59 outings, has only placed once (32f) at distances beyond 28f. Yesterday’s race was 30f.
4). This one placing was in December 2008 on much softer going than yesterday.
Having said all the above it is great to hear from someone who is actually making a decent profit from the sport we all enjoy so much. Long may it continue and hopefully we may see some of it during the current review.
Regards
John
