Stat of the Day
Another winner yesterday, and a reasonable price in the end (2/1) to improve David Evans’ amazing record in that race.
It’s Westenhanger for us this afternoon, as take the Eurostar to the…
Trickier today, and I’ve taken a bit of a punt on a man with an excellent track record, especially with his few older horse raiders.
Rod Millman is that man and, whilst he has three runners in a bid to improve his six from sixteen strike rate and 14.12 unit profit at the track, the one I like most is Sherman McCoy in the penultimate contest, a 1m4f handicap.
With just the seven runners, McCoy might get the soft lead which works for him so well. He also has a fitness advantage on a number of these which will come in handy if/when he tries to turn the screw up the home straight.
Sherman McCoy wants good ground (current going is good to soft, good in places, which should be ok), and he’s won off a two pound highrer mark than he carries today.
James Millman has ridden him for all his five wins, and the horse has a 50% place strike rate on turf. As such, the current 8/1 looks tempting each way, despite the non-runner meaning only seven go to post.
As ever, remember to…
