Trackerman Service Review

Here's our review of the Trackerman Service

Gary Poole (pictured right) is a well respected flat racing expert and a tipster of hundreds of big priced winners.

His new Trackerman service has been proofed live to the hundreds of members of the Betting Insiders Club and has shown consistent profits over the three months that those members (including myself!) have been receiving the selections.

Gary watches every race run on the Flat in the UK over and over and over again and he makes notes of every horse that has had trouble in running or has not run to it's full potential. These horses with gas still in the tank make up his Trackerman service.

During a three month trial where all selections were posted up ahead of racing on the Betting School Insiders Club
forum Gary Poole's Trackerman selections made 70 points profit in 3 months.

This is a level stakes service on all runners up to 16/1 and half stakes eachway on bigger priced selections and we are recommended to use a 50 unit bank to play it safe with Trackerman selections.

The Trackerman selections will be emailed to you each morning along with details of where the best odds
can be obtained and the reasoning behind the selection.

Trackerman is competitively priced at £49.99 per month, but as an introductory offer, you can get the first month at just £9.99 via this link.

There is also a members area where you can pick up the selections should your email setup fail.

Iain MacMillan will be reviewing the service for the next 60 days, using a £10 level stake based on the advised BOG odds in the daily Trackerman emails.

    Hi George,

Many thanks for your question and if I could point you to the last sentence in our introduction we calculate the profit/loss : ‘using a £10 level stake based on the advised BOG odds in the daily Trackerman emails.’ Essentially this means, as you eloquently put it, that we ‘have our cake and eat it’, using a BOG bookmaker is really just common sense.

      Glyn,

I personally check that the prices quoted are available and quite often I can get better than Gary has advised.

  6. Arrocuda says:

I took advantage of the trial offer but TBH from what I’ve seen so far this is one of those ‘services’ that attempts to eke a profit from BOG offers. Today there were only 2 bets and they were both in the same race, a seven runner handicap! Is down a fair few points since I started but not been backing them so I can’t winge too much. One thing that is a little ominous is that any mail sent to his ‘support’ email address is returned.

I will be cancelling the paypal auto monthly fee collection before the trial period ends for sure.

    • Chris Worrall says:

Gary Poole who runs Trackerman is a Geegeez subscriber, so I’m sure he’ll be happy to entertain any queries you have.
For the record, he is having a rough spell, but he knows his stuff and the profit already on the board is indisputable.

As you’re probably aware, I run a subscription tipping service away from Geegeea and I’m finding it tough too at the moment with the change of codes and the terrible weather etc.

      • Tim says:

He could try enabling his ‘support’ mailbox if he wanted to be more accessible to his subscribers. I accept that it is tough at this time of year, but giving two selections in the same 7 runner race as your only investment on the day smacks of desperation to me. TBH I’m suspicious of all services that recommend using and quote BOG prices to demonstrate a profit. If they can’t show a profit to B/f SP but claim profits to BOG then it can only be concluded that profits (if any), will always be marginal in the long term and that assumes that all their followers can get on.

        • Chris Worrall says:

          Tim,

Gary’s big enough and old enough to fight his own corner, but the essence of the trackerman is that he is tracking horses. He can’t be blamed if two of his notebook horses get put into the same race, can he? Should he leave the race alone? I wouldn’t.

          Chris

  7. glyn roberts says:

I cancelled before the end of the trial will not be paying the full fee thats for sure. Could be a hard marker but 50 pounds allmost NO. Kind Regards Glyn.

  8. Gary Poole says:

    Hi “Arrocuda” (Cheers Chris)

I’m not sure what you mean by “taking advantage of the BOG”?
I reckon about 90% of my selections return at a shorter sp to what I advise so I’m not sure why you think I could be benefitting from it,it’s nice when we do get a winning “drifter” but long-term that happens quite rarely as a lot of my selections are horses that were unlucky on their previous runs are therefore easy for most punters to pick up on and inevitably get well backed.

    Regarding the current quiet spell…

The profits have steadied in the last couple of weeks admittedly but that was always going to happen as if we carried on winning at the rate of the first couple of weeks then by the end of that flat season we would all be looking to retire and buy a villa in the Algarve!

The last week has been VERY unlucky for us not to have come away with substantial profit with four of the selections coming 2nd at odds of 8/1 12/1 14/1 & 14/1 which had they all won it would have been a very tasty sum of £480 profit added to the totals had we got the rub of the green.

If you watch the races or even just look into the results you can see for yourself just how good (or bad) any service is and by not just counting your winnings (or losses) and doing a bit of homework yourself as horse racing isn’t just a short-term “get rich quick fix” it’s a long-term process that can produce regular profits every month/year so by doing some research early when joining any service IMO is vital as you can quickly get a grasp of how the service might fare in the long-term by monitoring and studying the results and seeing how lucky/unlucky good/shit any service is.

    Kind regards,

    Gary.

  9. Gary Poole says:

    Hi Tim,

I don’t handle the admin side of the service ie email support etc my partners do,
but I will certainly ask them if there is a problem.

    Regarding this issue with BOG…

Virtually every bookie in the land offers BOG and if a horse’s price is bigger than the price advised then every single tipster in the land will add that price to their P&L which is surely the correct thing to do?!

Showing a profit to BFSP isn’t easy especially with a service like Trackerman as I stated before the majority of my horses go off much shorter than the advised price because lots of punters latch on to the value as early as possible. Not only that, there are more tipsters out there now than ever before so say I tip a horse and then another tipster tips that same horse then the price is going to be smashed in,that’s why it’s so difficult in this day & age to show a profit to BFSP.
But I would think over time like on my other service I will show a profit to BFSP when on the rare occasion the whole world (except me) misses the value of a horse and the price drifts right out, which is when we can also enjoy the kind offer of the bookies BOG which is becoming a rare occurrence.

I also don’t see your issue with choosing more than one horse in any race,in fact I sometimes choose 3 or 4 if the field is large and I have them in my tracker.
I am completely baffled with your logic of it signalling “smacks of desperation” (whatever that means). The whole point of punting is about making a profit and if I have 1,2,3,4… horses in a race and I think by backing them all I will show a profit I will do so.Those two horse I advised came 2nd at 14/1 & 3rd at 7/2,
had they come 1st & 2nd (wise punters would have done the fc too) we’d have made a nice profit and you wouldn’t have raised the issue,so I believe you’re “talking out of your wallet” and not your mind.

To be still making a healthy 23pts profit after 5 weeks even after a (very unlucky) lean spell and to be receiving complaints off “members” just 2 weeks after joining is absolutely laughable IMO and I will happily accept your decision to cancel your membership(s).

    Regards,

    Gary.

  10. Arrocuda says:

Several points here Gary….. first one, as I said earlier I haven’t invested a brass cent on your selections, so I’m not sure as to how I can be ‘pocket talking’. I am not saying that you can not or will not make a profit in the long term. All I am saying that if you are dependent upon BOG prices to get that profit, and cannot show a profit to BFSP, then subscribers need to be aware that the margin of profit returned will always be dependent upon their ability to get these prices. Just because ‘every tipster in the land’ chooses to assume that subscribers do, doesn’t guarantee that any of them do, never mind ALL of them do.

BFSP is the litmus test in that it’s a ‘zero game’. That is to say that even someone picking horses at random should break even in the long term. So anyone who can demonstrate a better than average ability to find winners should be able to show a profit, if only a marginal one. So…. if you want to prove to your subscribers that your methodology is profitable then a record of BFSP returns should be provided if only to demonstrate just how effective it is.

I specialise in jumps racing and have been making a living from it for several years now. At this time of year I have time on my hands so I look around to see what other people are doing, but so far I have never been able to achieve anything near the ROI I get from jumps racing, by betting on the flat. Consequently, I used up all my BOG credit with the majors many moons ago. These days the bookies are ‘tracking’ the punters and it’s surprising how quick they get on to you if they think you know a ‘good bet’ at a ‘good price’.

So to conclude…. your service is not for me but as I said earlier it may be possible to eke out a profit for subscribers who can still get a BOG bet on and still have plenty of bookmakers to go at.

    Regards….

    Tim.

  11. Gary Poole says:

    Tim,

Whether or not you’re backing the horses, talking out of your wallet or just plain talking out of your arse, the fact is you’re complaining about a service after following it for just two weeks, two weeks before that it was showing very good profits so you’ve simply demonstrating ultra impatience in complaining so early which considering you’re such a “specialist in jumps racing” I find it hard to understand that you don’t appreciate the ups & downs of horse racing and betting on sports in general.

SURELY you don’t need me to tell you that “gambling” (I prefer to use the word investing) is a long term “investment” which will produce small/medium/large and weekly/monthly/yearly profits depending on your stake size (and how much rein the bookie gives you) so judging a service after two weeks is hardly fair is it.

You also keep harping on about BOG? Do you actually understand what this term means?

…”So to conclude…. your service is not for me but as I said earlier it may be possible to eke out a profit for subscribers who can still get a BOG bet on and still have plenty of bookmakers to go at.”

BOG (best odds guaranteed) is only beneficial when a horse’s price DRIFTS out to a bigger price and returns a BIGGER sp to the price you took with the bookie, with my selections this VERY rarely happens so how on earth does my service “eke a profit” from this offer.Subscribers need to (as with any service) get the best price on offer and by doing so need to have an account with as many bookies as possible and that’s easily achievable but that has absolutely NOTHING to do with using the BOG offer,in fact if you take that offer away the P&L of my service would hardly change because as I’ve already stated the vast majority of my horses end up a much a SMALLER price to the one I advised.

Warmest regards and good look in “specialising in jumps” and maybe also try specialising in BOG offers!

    Gary.

    • Tim says:

      Hi Gary…..

Not getting into a flame contest with you so I’ll stick to the relevant points. I’m not complaining about your service. As I said before I haven’t put a penny on them. I just thought it might be worth a tenner to look at what your doing to see if I could maybe profit from them on the exchange. As I understand it these are horses that you have noticed ‘in behind’ in previous races that you are expecting to run better next time out. My idea was to perhaps take advantage of your observations by adopting a back to lay strategy about them. Only paper traded them so far using Timeform’s in running lowest odds available results.

I’ve done a quick tot up of the results as represented here on this page and around a third of your wins drifted out. Not an insignificant percentage I don’t think. I understand how the BOG offer works, you obviously do as well as you advise all subscribers to take the BOG on your daily bulletin. You obviously realise the value of getting two bites of the cherry in the longer term.

Getting back to my activities…. I decided to have a go at going ‘pro’ a few years back after I got made redundant and found that job prospects aren’t brilliant when your 55. As a weekend punter I’d always seemed to do better over jumps so after reading several books by pro punters that stress the value of specialising, I decided to focus on jumps racing and handicaps in particular. So I set a side a few thousand pounds from my redundancy payment and TBH never looked back. I play the mid to longer end of the market so I do get longish losing runs from time to time, but at the kind of odds I play at (normally => than the number of runners in the race), it usually doesn’t take too long to get back in the black. My strike rate for last season for example was 15.2%, but the odds returned were as high as 32.0. I’m not high rolling (just yet) :o) but it sure as hell beats shunting supermarket trolleys or flipping burgers for a living.

At this time of year there’s little jumps action, sometimes none, so I look at other methods to see if I can maybe find a way to make decent profits from the better flat races, but TBH I’m finding it to be very marginal by comparison with the kind of profit I make over the jumps. I am not trying to trash your service. I believe that there may well be a way to profit in the long term from your service for some punters, its just that I don’t believe I’m one of them.

      Regards….

      Tim.

        Hi Tim, Gary,

I think this has been a really interesting discussion, and I enjoyed reading it.

        Thanks for sharing
        Matt

        • Arrocuda says:

Hi Matt…… I’m setting myself a challenge. I’m gonna set up a website and post all the bets I place over a period of time so as your nominated adjudicator can monitor them. Only rules are…..

          1/ Jumps only
          2/ Handicaps only
          3/ Straight win bets only
4/ All bets taken will be at odds => ((Number of runners in the field)-1)
5/ All bets uploaded around 1 minute before post time so no BOG or ‘advised odds’ chicanery.
          6/ P/L calculated to BFSP

          Are you up for it?

          Tim.

            Hi Arrocuda

Good luck with your challenge. We’re not really up for adjudicating – as you’ll understand, we get plenty of requests to send tips to us for a trial period.

If your overall objective is commercial, might I suggest tipping on the Tipping League under a clean username (i.e no tip history) at £1 a point. Although we settle at SP, it’ll offer a record of bets placed and corroborate any statements you might later want to make about profitability.

That’s the best I can suggest, I’m afraid. I would be interested to see how such an approach went.

            Best,
            Matt

I’ve just received another (unapproved yet) comment from you Tim, but whilst we consider it a bit more closely, I should warn you that you’re straying very close to breaking one of the very few rules we actually have on here.

We call it “No pitch, no bitch” and you’ve been doing the latter ( IMO, of course!) and now it looks like you’re attempting the former.

I’m not entirely sure what your agenda is or what game you’re playing, but I don’t really want to be a part of it.
If you want to put your selections up in public, we have a forum where you can do that.

        Cheers,
        Chris

        • Tim says:

          Hi Chris….

Not trying to break any rules, just trying to give an honest opinion Chris. I thought about the forum but as far as I’m aware you need to be a Gold member to access it. As for ‘bitching ‘n pitching’, well…. looks as though I’m damned either way.

If there was a ‘hidden agenda’ it was maybe me trying to demonstrate to Gary the benefits of specialising and the returns it can bring, without the need to secure mitigation from your bookmaker. So nothing sinister going on there.

          Cheers….

          Tim.

          • Chris Worrall says:

            Tim,

“…just trying to give an honest opinion Chris…”

            Me too, mate! 😀
And they were just my own thoughts at the time, NOT an official Geegeez response.

            Cheers,
            Chris

Thanks Matt….. I can see your point as regards utilising your resources and I’m not planning to go commercial with my activities so there wouldn’t be anything to sell at the end of it. A friend of mine who is a website developer offered to give me a website for the price of the registration/hosting fee and a drink. Thought it could be a bit of fun but don’t want to end up turning it into a job.

    Cheers….

    Tim

What are you trying to prove to me?

There’s just not enough time in the day for me to fart about with Betfair or follow your demo.

I run two tipping services where normal everyday punters can put a bet on with the bookies and if they can’t get a bet on with the bookies then my service is not for them.

You obviously have been restricted by bookies and can only profit from bets on Betfair, I suggest finding a friend whose name you can use to open a new account and place bets just the same as most people do who have been restricted, if you can’t do that then my service and 99% of other tipster services aren’t for you.

You seem determined on pissing people off and wasting everyone’s time with points that are simply not worth making because EVERYONE who signs up to my service(s) CAN get their bets on and are not interested in ANY problems you might be having or whether or not they are settled at BOG or BFSP because it simply doesn’t matter,it only matters to YOU.

I’ve had over 80 accounts either limited or closed in the last 12 years and I STILL can get my bets on and I don’t have to bother using Betfair and even if I did I would just get on with and not prattle on about it complaining about whether getting BOG or not to tipsters or anyone else on the forum.

You’ve clearly got mixed up with BOG and/or just securing the best price on offer. Every single bookie now offers BOG so your point about this is totally irrelevant. Securing an advised early price is easy so long as you have an account with the top 4 bookies and not necessarily all of them and most punters have those accounts so it’s not an issue.

If the occasional horse drifts then hey ho extra doe!

Forgive me, but I think your reply above is a bit embarrassing for you. Tim’s questions were, in my opinion at least, perfectly fair.

To reply with the likes of “jog on” is childish and patronising.

Really surprised (and disappointed) at your tone, which doesn’t reflect well on you – or your services – one bit.

      Matt

  14. Gary Poole says:

    Hi Matt,

Yes you’re right and my most sincere apologies.

I just find it hard to deal with what I deem as unwarranted criticism especially as It’s my first year and I’m working ridiculously hard to make it a success.

Please edit my “childish and patronising” comments and I’ll refrain from reading or commenting again in the future.

    Thanks,

    Gary.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Gary

Thanks for that, I appreciate it.

I know, better than most readers, what a hard game tipping is, especially when the pressure mounts in a losing run. It’s because you care about results and subscribers, and that’s to your credit.

I’ve had plenty of tantrums on here, and I always (always!) wish I hadn’t bitten.

      Onwards and upwards,
      Matt

p.s. your comments are extremely welcome, when they’re fair-minded. It would have been sufficient to say you don’t have the time to investigate and to invite the questioner to take the results set and do his own research. Anyway, please do keep in touch. I, and I’m sure other readers, welcome openness and the fact that there is definitely a thinking, feeling human being providing the service!

  15. Gary Poole says:

    No worries Matt,

Tantrums are good! But I’m a working class lad (common as muck in layman’s terms) plus I’m 45 going on 17 so I might sound a bit “raw” to some!

I like to think I’m extremely fair and open minded when listening to comments and complaints (I started off calmly!) cos at the end of the day I’m still learning and will still be learning to the day I die as racing has such a broad spectrum and I value comments to help me improve, but what I find difficult to handle is complaints and comments about something that is out of my control and nothing to do with my service at all ie whether or not it’s profitable to BFSP or BOG prices.

If I make an genuine error or one of my selections is poor for a negative angle that I’ve missed or for whatever reason,or there is a general problem with admin as a member on here pointed out then I’m all ears and very receptive because I want to make it work, learn more and strive to improve the service as best I can.

But for now I’ll carry on letting Steve handle the admin and any moans from members of the services as I don’t think I’m not quite cut out for that side of things 🙂

Have a great day and sorry to you and to Tim for any insult or patronisation (is that a word?) caused.

    Gary.

I trialled the TM service for the full month of May and lost quite a bit of cash so baled out before the 1st full fee was due.
The situation would have been a lot different if some of the runners had been a bit kinder to us. As an example; on the 2nd May, my first day, we backed Emirates Skycargo at 10/1 in the last race at Newmarket. It was badly hampered and had to be switched across the field to make a run and only just failed.
If that had won it would have meant that the losses I made would have been eradicated. There were several other big priced selections that in other circumstances would have meant that the trial yielded a good profit rather than a loss, and my views on the service would have been very different.
I do not agree with the comments on backing 2 horses in one race. I do this most weeks and it is profitable for me.
