Newcastle 2.50 EIDER CHASE
FGR Rankings – Rocking Blues, Mysteree
Rocking Blues – In fine form at present, winning his last two starts in the manner of a progressive horse. Heralds from the in form Rosie Dobbin yard, and although he ran just nine days ago, appears fresh enough to do himself justice. Should give a good account if staying the extra mile.
Mysteree – Unexposed novice chaser; has won two of his three starts over fences to date, and was always going to do better over fences. Has much more on his plate though than when winning here over 3m last time, and his jumping went to pieces in the largest field he’s encountered to date (9 runners) and the Lucinda Russell yard is currently in pitiful form.
Rocking Blues is clearly the best of the two and should give a good account if he stays. That’s a big enough doubt to make him a no bet here, but he could well place, and 9-1 is still readily available should you want an interest in the race.
