Some people may choose to look further into the selections in terms of pace, draw, SR, trainer, jockey, course expert etc. etc. That’s entirely individual choice and the approach (in part, at least) that I take with Shortlist candidates; but it is time-consuming.
For MaxSR/Mintrip, personally I back blindly since it’s profitable and Paul is kindly providing the selections so it saves me time.
Interestingly, in the case above, if you were taking the market into consideration it was the least likely horse (from the market perspective) that actually won.
P.S. Chris, very sharp, I did chuckle 🙂 Indeed, as someone recently said, our goal is to only back winners. Sounds simple enough!
