Re General Tufto, highly unlikely anything untoward happened. He always gets horribly outpaced, and the jockey – who is normally Joey Haynes – is generally very busy very early.
When there’s more of a pace burn up on the front, they tend to stop in front of him and he plods on past. But today, with just the one easy pace angle, he was unlikely to get there (I thought).
He’s a fantastic Southwell horse, though, and the next time he’s in a race with plenty of pace, it’ll be time to get involved again. 🙂
