Libbard appeared to raise the white flag somewhat when headed at Kempton last night in what was a very tame effort indeed. She was probably the weakest selection I’ve put up to date, and maybe I fell into the trap of highlighting a horse just for the sake of it, in which case it’s lesson learnt.
Today’s shortlist is…

Goodwood 3.10 Silver Quay
Goodwood 4.20 Scrutinise
Perth 5.45 Epic Warrior

Silver Quay appeared to be given too much to do by Sean Levey at Windsor last time when a good second. I’m not convinced very soft ground will suit though and he’s possibly better on straight tracks.
Scrutinise is progressive and has obvious claims here, but this is a big step up and he may not want it bottomless either, and his best form had been when going left-handed.
Epic Warrior is unexposed and ran away with Southwell maiden hurdle last time out and is entitled to improve again, on this, his handicap debut.

For my best of the day I’m going with…

Perth 5.45 EPIC WARRIOR

…who makes the long jorney from Devon for the David Pipe yard, and merits a 1 pt recommended bet here.
