Flying Officer was an 11-8 shot when I put him up as a highlighted horse yesterday, but weight of money forced his price down to a BSP of 1.7! Maybe I should start suggesting BOG, but the horse won well enough in the end dispite wandering close home, which is the main thing.
Today’s shortlist is…

Newmarket 3.05 Hawksmoor
Newmarket 3.40 Time Test
Newmarket 4.50 Wadi Al Hattawi

Hawksmoor is progressive and Hugo Palmer has high hopes for this filly. Both her wins to date though have come on tight tracks on deepish ground (even on polytrack) and for some reason Hugo’s horses haven’t been finishing their races lately.
Time Test won impressively at Royal Ascot in June before running a fair fourth in York’s International Stakes. Roger Charlton is more concerned about the ground than the trip today, and if back to his best, this colt could prove hard to beat.
Wadi Al Hattawi’s best trip is 1m6f according to his trainer and has done all his winning to date in big fields, usually when fresh.

For my best of the day I’m going with…

Newmarket 3.40 TIME TEST

… and it’s only Roger’s reservations about the ground that prevents me from putting him up as a 1 pt recommended bet.
