Badgers Retreat survived a blunder at Warwick yesterday to land something of a gamble (15-8 into 11-8), returned at a BSP of 2.42, and showing a good attitude to get his head back in front after the last.
Today’s shortlist is…

Ascot 2.50 Roxy Star
Ascot 4.00 Pin Up
Hexham 4.15 Serenity Now

Roxy Star has done all her winning when fresh, putting in an improved performance at Doncaster last time having previously struggled in Group 3 and Listed company.
Proven in every respect and, if the first time blinkers do the trick here, has a serious chance.
Pin Up can take time to get going, which may explain why her two wins to date have come on rain softened ground. The short run-in here may not play to her strengths either but she does have the assistance of Ryan Moore.
Serenity Now won over C&D when last seen over timber in June and has been in good form, winning twice, on the level since. Given the nature of the race, his effort last time out in a Jumps jockey Flat handicap, can probably be excused.

I’m going for…

Hexham 4.15 SERENITY NOW

…as my best of the day. But I’ll put this one up as highlighted horse as opposed to a 1 pt recommended bet given that slight doubt about his run last time out.
