Ballydoyle appeared to relish the extra furlong at Longchamp yesterday and is now a live Guineas contender for next year. She attracted a lot a late support too having been backed down to 6-4, with a generous 2-1 available at the time of posting.
On to today’s shortlist, which is…
Pontefract 3.05 Pyjama Party
Market Rasen 2.45 Wintour Leap
Market Rasen 3.50 Bouggietopieces
Pyjama Party appears to have been found a good opportunity here by William Haggas after struggling a tad at Newmarket last time on easy ground and had some smart form earlier in the season, principally when second to Decorated Knight at Sandown.
Wintour Leap is game and consistent and has obvious claims if translating her Worcester form over this sharper course, although she has failed three times now on faster ground, which is a slight concern.
Bouggietopiedes won a poor race at Perth two starts back. His record over
today’s 3m is far from convincing, although he does herald from the Gordon Elliott yard whose British raiders invariably do well here, especially at the minor tracks.
I’ve decided to weigh in with…
Pontefract 3.05 PYJAMA PARTY
…who can win this on earlier Sandown form. I’ll put him up as a highlighted horse though as opposed to a 1 pt recommended bet as he is yet to prove himself on fast ground.
