The Game Changer won in the manner of a very good horse at Punchestown yesterday returned at a BSP of 1.95, with 11-10 BOG readily available at the time of posting. Gordon Elliott’s charge will now be aimed at the big spring festivals, and would have a live chance wherever Gordon chooses to send him judging on that effort.
Today’s shortlist consists of…
Wincanton 3.35 Mountain Fighter
Wincanton 4.10 He’s A Bully
Wincanton 4.45 Barton Antix
Mountain Fighter is very much unexposed over timber and appears to be progressing. Needs to prove himself on fast ground and has more on his plate here on this, his handicap debut, but has the scope to make a bold bid.
He’s A Bully has been found a good opportunity to get off the mark here by Philip Hobbs today, though whether he’s got the will to take it is debatable. He’s woefully short at 13-8 in my opinion.
Barton Antix has really got his act together over hurdles the last twice and has got his conditions today in a race which should be run to suit, and has solid claims.
Mountain Fighter looks fair value at 7-2 BOG but my idea of the most likely winner from these three is…
Wincanton 4.45 BARTON ANTIX
who only has to reproduce his Towcester form on this much sharper track to have a favourites chance today. There is a doubt in that respect though so I’ll put him up as a highlighted horse as opposed to a 1 pt recommended bet.
