I’ve had a touch of seconditus of late, what with Beast Mode having to give second best to the unbeaten Thanksfortellingme at Pontefract yesterday, after a similar scenario with Almela at Naas on Sunday.
Today’s shortlist is West country bound, being…

Exeter 2.10 For ‘N’ Against
Exeter 2.40 Bulletproof
Exeter 3.45 Border Breaker

For ‘N’ Against is not the easiest to win with, which probably explains the multiple headgear. Unraced on good-to-firm and his sole proven effort came under different circumstances than those that prevail today.
Bulletproof has found a new lease of life of late and is attempting the four timer here. Has always been found out over this trip in the past, but it may be worth giving him one more chance given his current wellbring.
Border Breaker was probably made too much use of at Perth last time and will be ridden with more restraint today. However, his optimum trip appears to be about 2m4f and he’s unraced on fast ground.

Border Breaker is well worth another chance over this trip, but I think the best of these is…

…who has really come to himself of late. It’s the doubt about the trip that prevents me from putting him up ad a 1 pt recommended bet, so I’ll put him up as a highlighted horse instead.
