Hadfield probably won with more in hand at Carlisle yesterday than the official winning margin of 2l suggests, as the horse was pricking his ears on the run-in, and he could well step up on that effort. He was easy to back too, returned at a BSP of 3.7.
Today’s shortlist reflects the fact that the new Jumps season is really starting to get into gear, being…

Cheltenham 2.10 Penglai Pavillion
Cheltenham 2.45 Dormello Mo
Cheltenham 3.55 Vintage Vinnie

Penglai Pavillion is an ultra promising individual and heralds from the inform John Ferguson yard. John readily admits that today’s trip is an ‘experiment’, and although fit, he will come on for the run.
Dormello Mo comes out best on both adjusted official ratings and RPR’s and has had this race as his target for some time now, and looks overpriced at 9-2.
Vintage Vinnie ran away with a Worcester Beginners Chase last time when making all at the first time of asking and is another very promising type. Won’t get his own way in front here though.

For my best of the day I’m going for…

Cheltenham 2.45 DORMELLO MO

…who looks far too big a price at 9-2 BOG. I’m even prepared to put him up as a 1 pt recommended bet.
