I can’t comment on the running of Foundation at Doncaster yesterday as I haven’t seen the race because I was elsewhere. John Gosden seemed quite philosophical about the horses defeat though. Others have been critical of Dettori’s ride. Some maintain the horse was unlucky. All I know is that I’ve blown another pt, and I hope to get that back and more with today’s shortlist, which is…
Leopardstown 2.20 The Happy Prince
Leopardstown 2.50 Landofhopeandglory
Aintree 2.30 Danimix
The Happy Prince was a fair second over 6f at the Curragh last time out. Finished behind three of today’s rivals before that over an extended 7f at Tipperary and possibly falls a tad short at this level.
Landofhopeandglory is progressive. Described as ‘babyish’ by trainer Aidan O’Brien previously, but connections feel he’s starting to grow up now and has scope to improve here.
Danimix appears to be improving also (at the ripe old age of ten) and comes here proven in every respect, with just a slight doubt about the recent form of the Peter Bowen yard.
I’m going for…
Aintree 2.30 DANIMIX
…as my best of the day. He’s well worth a 1 pt recommended bet, and the 11-4 BOG with Betway is fair value if you can still get on.
