Fabricate failed to justify sustained market support at Leicester yesterday (15-8 into 5-4) where a combination of soft ground, the stiff track, and a lack of fitness, appeared to find him out.
Hopefully we can turn things around with today’s shortlist, which is…
Bangor 3.30 Chankillo
Lingfield 3.10 Starlit Cantata
Wolverhampton 6.10 Perfect Cracker
Chankillo has been in good form of late, finally getting off the mark at Market Rasen last time, having fallen at Southwell when 2l clear at the last the time before.
Starlit Cantata’s three wins to date have all come over C&D. Proven after an absence she has strong claims here, with the only doubt being the indifferent form of the Eve Johnson-Houghton yard in the last fortnight.
Perfect Cracker also has an obvious chance if anywhere near his best after a break (unproven in such circumstances), but his yard is another with a definite end-of-season look about it.
I’m split between Chankillo and Starlit Cantata for my best of the day with marginal preference for…
Lingfield 3.10 STARLIT CANTATA
…who I’ll put up as a highlighted horse as opposed to a 1 pt recommended bet as there is a question mark about the recent wellbeing of the yard.
