Groucho Marx did say that, whether or not it was written by a screenwriter!
Well, Westerbee saved our asses yesterday and George, like me, took the 42 BSP but the winning BSP was 50, after a peak of 180! So, after removing the 5% comm and the £46 stake we were left with a profit of £33.80. Not to be sniffed at!
Fontwell is a top earning handicap HURDLES track for me, good all year round but especially in April and NOVEMBER. Currently in profit by £1,326 after commission there’s only one race of note today, the 2.10HH where I’m on Arquebusier 20/1 (32), Appropriate 33/1 (70) and Padova 25/1 (50).
Over at Wetherby (another left-hander like Fontwell) I’ve got 6 in three races: a Maiden Hurdle, a Handicap Hurdle and a NH Flat race. Wetherby is a borderline course over hurdles, currently 1 point down and preferring Feb-May to produce winning outsiders. As Maiden and Flat races are new to us, they’re also “unknown” factors, so perhaps you might want to miss these and just see how I do with them. Or not 🙂
Wet 1.50MH Denton Carnival 20/1 (32), Bollihope 20/1 (40) and Keep Up 50/1 (100)
Wet 3.00HH Mac N Cheese 16/1 (25)
Wet 3.30F Zeldina 25/1 (50) and Fairlee Grace 33/1 (70)
A further 13 at Lin, 19 at Kem and 18 at Dun are the usual suspects.
Must dash, got a pub lunch date with my wife organised 🙂
