FGR – Best Of The Day

Millicent Silver just about cemented what has been a disappointing end to the month when a well beaten third at Lingfield yesterday, when she possibly had too much use made of her in the early part of the race.
However, the returns for November show a 36% strike rate for over 4 pts profit from an ROI of 21%. Not much wrong there, but hopefully a new month will bring a change in fortune as we really do need a winner, with today’s shortlist being…

Lingfield 1.00 Bredon Hill Lad
Lingfield 1.30 Never Says Never
Lingfield 2.00 Atlantic Power

Bredon Hill Lad got off the mark over fences at the second time of asking at Uttoxeter last time out. Unproven over today’s trip but has obvious claims if as effective over the three.

Never Says Never has more on his plate than when a Exeter conditional handicap hurdle last time. His record going left-handed is moderate to say the least, and the reason he’s so short in the market seems to be down to the fact that he goes unpenalised here for that Exeter win.

Atlantic Power hasn’t won since 2012, albeit relatively lightly raced since. May not want the ground quite this heavy and herealds from a yard that hasn’t saddled a winner for 54 days.

I’m going for…

Lingfield 1.00 BREDON HILL LAD @ 6-5 BOG

…to get the month off to a winning start as he has obvious claims here since the defection of Halo Moon and could prove hard to beat.
