Best World Cup 2014 Bookie Offers

It's a bonkers bonanza of bookie benevolence for the next few weeks, and we at geegeez have been through the best of 'em in a bid to bring home some bacon.

Below is a table which can be sorted by 'New Customers Only' or 'All Customers'; by Offer Rating; by Bookmaker; by... well, whatever you like really.

There are some incredible 'free bet' opportunities, and I've included a few ideas on how to play them below.

World Cup 2014 Outright Betting Best Bookmaker Offers

The best of these are reserved for new customers. For instance, if you have yet to open an account with Betfair, Paddy Power and Betfred, you could get £10 at 10/1, £10 at 7/1, and £10 at 8/1 respectively. That's £30 at average odds of 8.33/1 about a legitimate 3/1 chance.

Some of you might even want to trade off that position by laying Brazil at 4.3. That would give you a free bet to win £120. Which is nice enough.

Your first 30 days for just £1

Whoever you like in the outright market, Coral's money back as a free bet if Brazil or Argentina win looks good. For instance, if you like Argentina, you obviously won't get your money back if they win - you'll get paid out! - but you would have insurance in case Brazil won. And, if you want to take a bit  more of a punt on, say, Chile or Colombia, you could have the big two South American sides in your corner to bail you out as needed.

And I quite like the pair of offers from Betfair Sports and Betbright where you get free bets for betting in their outright markets. With Betfair Sports, a £20 outright winner bet gets you 3 x £5 free bets on Brazil's group games; while Betbright will reward a £25 bet on any team in the outright market with a £5 free bet each time they win.

Best World Cup 2014 Top Scorer Bookie Offers

There are some belting bookmaker offers in the World Cup 2014 Top Scorer markets too. In fact, my favourite so far is PP's 'bet £20 on a player to be top scorer, and get a £5 free bet each time he scores'. I've taken a number of players in this market, and will have a fair bit of fun through the group stage at least.

Or what about Ladbrokes' 30% discount offer? That's what their 'money back if Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo or Suarez top score' equates to, which is a pretty hefty discount.

And Betbright have a similar offer to Paddy's except you need to stake £25 to qualify. If you like a player for top scorer and want to have more than £20, you could stake £45 across the two bookies, and get £10 in free bets each time your man scores.

Best Group Match Bookmaker Offers: 2014 World Cup

There are lots of money back on various markets if a game finishes 0-0. There were seven goalless games at the 2010 World Cup (some of them in the knockout stages, and one of England's group games), so this is well worth noting if you bet first scorer, scorecast or correct score.

I like bwin's 'money back on Brazil match bets if they fail to beat Croatia'. So that's basically a free bet on Brazil to win a free bet if they fail to win. If you see what I mean. Alternatively, bwin has a similar offer on the Germany - Portugal game, where they'll refund stakes as a free bet if you bet Germany (11/10) and Portugal. Obviously, the draw is against you there, but if you fancy Germany - as I do a fair bit - then that's a tempting proposition.

Best World Cup 2014 Novelty Bookie Offer

And lastly, I wanted to mention a really nice offer, and perhaps the most 'fun' bet on the table, courtesy of 888sport. This month's tipping league sponsors have a 'nominated team' offer.

The rules are pretty simple: pick a team to be your nominated team. Bet £5 on them to win any particular match, and each time they score in that match you'll get a free £5 bet. They could lose 3-1 and you'd still get your losing stake matched as a free bet. The trick here, I think, is to look for a team that can 'cut loose' in a group with at least one team that has a ropey defence.

Colombia might have some fun in their group - at least I've bet that way in the top scorer market! - and maybe Argentina will hit a few in their section. Obviously, Brazil could whack Cameroon; and everyone in Group B could thump Australia who look seriously up against it, especially in the last group game when they'll presumably have half a dozen players suspended... They'll have Spain beating them up that day...

Excellent coverage as ever Matt—Australia probably having six players suspended by the last match the Roos play in their group–classic material! Mal.

      Ha, thanks Mal.

I honestly don’t what they’re going to do. Their coach allegedly wants them to try to pass the ball around “to see how far we’ve come”. And in a ‘normal’ group, that would be a very noble sentiment. But in a group with Spain, Holland and Chile, they’ll surely get ripped to shreds trying that. So Aussie Rules it is!!

Hi Matt, great article and got an email from Bet Butler that is offering a free £25 refund bet on all pre tournament outright bets if a European team wins the World Cup. I like this bet as I fancy Spain but also get Germany on board. My heart says Brazil but I have an inkling for Spain and you could always lay it off if they make the final. Looking at the terms its available for old and new customers.

The 888 offer of £5 free bets for every goal scored by your nominated team is for any market I believe, not just win bets (terms from the invitation email below). I would therefore lean towards betting under 2.5/1.5 goals and if your bet doesn’t win you have covered it with lots of free bets!
“Bet – Place a pre-match bet of at least £5 at odds of 1/2 (1.5) or more on
any market for a match involving your nominated team.”
