Bet Catalyst Day 15 Update

Day 15 Results – 19th March 2010

There was just one selection advised today, but what an advice:

Cheltenham 17.15 - Won (16/1) - £70 E/w

Profit on the day = £1,400.00

Accumulated (Profit) = £400.00 - Could have been so much more (see below).

I have highlighted throughout the review that patience, nerves of steel and a deep wallet would probably be needed given that the review started at a stage when the Service was already showing a profit of £4000+ and thus was in a financial position to weather a bad run. Unfortunately, our review coincided with the aforesaid bad run which meant things were not looking too rosy, until today that is.

I am posting the results of the Service to SP so any winnings identified will generally be far lower than if the bets were struck at the recommended prices. For example, and in all fairness to the team at Bet Catalyst, I will quote verbatim the contents of the email received from them today (received at 11.42 this morning).  This email, whilst particularly insightful today, is a good example of the thoughts they put into determining why a particular horse is a selection.

"In the 5.15 Cheltenham I get the impression that PIGEON ISLAND is going to run a very big race. Rated as high as 144 over hurdles he races here of 129. More importantly he carries only 10-1 and PAddy Brennan takes the ride. This will be the first time in 2 1/2 years that he's carried less than 11-0. Even more significantly the only two time he's ran over 2m at Cheltenham on good ground he's returned figures of 1-F. The win was off 141 carrying 11-8, while he fell when he would have definitely finished a close second. The last time he run off a simlar mark on good ground over 2m he won - albeit over hurdles. With Bet365 paying 1/4 odds first 5 and going top-priced 40-1 he rates a good e/w bet to pull us out of the preverbial.

Suggested Bet:

£70 e/w Pigeon Island 5.15 Cheltenham @ 40-1 Bet365 1/4 odds first 5 b/o/g"

If you had been able to get the quoted 40/1 odds this morning the days profit would have been a whopping £3,500.00. Well done Bet Catalyst and hopefully we can have more of the same during the remainder of the review.

    HI John

The 40-1 would have been subject to a 10p r4. The good thing is that we give our advice at 11.30am every day and that price was available up until 12.00pm. The 33-1 was then available all the way up until around 4pm and again would be subject to a 10p r4. What I want to stress is that although the trial is based on SP, any subscribers would have got at least 33-1, if not the 40-1 advised.

Thanks so far for a very fair review. Fingers crossed we can follow up tomorrow.
