I take a fair bit of flack for my comments from Matt…but today its hats off to Gavin and Bluesea Cracker..and New Story for a place from Bet Catalyst helped too.

      Hi Ronnie

I only ever give you flack when it’s deserved! 😉

You’re absolutely right though – great shout from Gavin. Infuriatingly for me, it was also a qualifier on the rules I outlined but the weights went up (BC was out of the handicap and looked unlikely to get a run before the top three came out).

In my analysis, I went down to 10-04 (assuming one of the top three in the weights would run), and the winner lugged 10-03. Bluesea was an 8yo, in the handicap with less than 10-12, rated between 121 and 136, and won over three miles.

As I said at the end of the piece, “If neither of the top two in the entries were to run, then the weights would go up at least four pounds if Synchronised ran, and seven pounds otherwise. This would obviously bring more horses into the mix, again assuming they’d make the final thirty.”

      Hey ho, them’s the breaks.
