Big winner yesterday – another today?

It's Grand National Saturday, dear reader, and it's unquestionably my favourite race. My thoughts can be found in various other posts, including yesterday's 'Why your horse won't win the National' effort!

Today's post then is merely to add the selections for the two little Aintree in April systems I mentioned earlier in the week.

So far the under-exposed system has found What A Friend (Betfair SP 11/4) and Wayward Prince (BSP 11.88/1) for a small loss on 18 picks.

The big outsiders system hit it yesterday with 28/1 winner Big Time Billy, which had a Betfair SP (for my cheeky fiver) of 46.16/1!

Near 50/1 winner... nice!

Near 50/1 winner... nice!

Today's selections, which will now almost certainly draw a blank after that build up, are as follows:

Underexposed System

1.45 J'Adhere, Peddlers Cross

2.15 Bergo, Green Belt Elite, See You Bob, Tataniano

2.50 Zaynar

3.25 Wogan

4.15 The Package

5.00 Magnum Force, Ballybriggan

Simple Aintree System

1.45 Bygones of Brid, Duke of Lucca

5.35 Fishoutofwater, Priceless Art, Milgen Bay, Royal Swain

Whatever you fancy, whatever you back, have a fantastic day, and enjoy the spectacle!

    Hi Matt.

Peter Bowen has a great record at Aintree. I am supprised that you missed the other winner (Always Waining). In Trainers Jumps Stats 2006/2007 his record since 2002 is at Aintree is 9 from 38, 3 from 10 in H’Caps. He has a plus of £30.

I did not back anything but as I watched I was not supprised, just cross with my self.

      Hi Bruce

I didn’t miss Always Waining. Had a cheeky fiver on that as well…

Not a fortune but, to be honest, I don’t really like Aintree aside from the big race, which I love. I like to watch the racing, but so many horses are over the top at this stage that it’s a minefield for punters.

    Hi Matt,

Not sure how to post a general item on the website (or on HRE for that matter) but I just thought I’d mention the winner using your 10-1 to 10-4 in H/C races from April – Oct. After my 69/1 winner last year, I was keen on using it again as part of my portfolio.

Anyway, looks like Munlochy duly obliged at 28/1 SP (50.77 on Betfair!) in the 4.30 at Cheltenham today.

Shame I missed it, even though I’d identified it this morning…as I was busy with a spreadsheet for work! Bugger!

I’m sure there’ll be a few more by the end of the year.

      Hi Eamon

Excellent spot, except… that was a handicap hurdle and the system is for handicap chases.

But many thanks for the reminder. I’ll send out a link to the system for newcomers at the end of the week.

Kyllachy Storm did oblige for your Kempton draw analysis at a tasty 12-1 though 😀

with Theatre Dive and Templar coming in at 1-2 for the only Hunters chase of the day, maybe you do know a thing or two! 😉
