Cheltenham 2022: Profit and Loss

It's that time of year again, post-Cheltenham 2022, when the prudent thing to do is look over one's wagering and inspect where things went wrong, and right; or right, and wrong. If you're the voyeuristic type then I invite you to look over my shoulder at how the Fez went for me from a punting perspective.

By way of comparison/contrast, here are a couple of previous reviews:

nice profits there Matt, Facile Vega was a great return at 25s. A really good indicator too of using different markets.

Nothing like the level of stakes you use. Ante-post me and a friend had 17 bets, 3 wins,3 places for a nice profit.
Elimay landed me a few multiples on the last day (ante-post).
I was breakeven on the placepots (using the Tote 1p perms). Unfortunately couldn’t chop a really big one although got a boost when they boosted the placepot by 10% if placed via their app.

Slightly in the green overall, but not by very much. I need to do my wash-up of the meeting.

Good work on clearing a profit, Paul. As for the placepots, they were slim pickings this year with no big dividends. I ‘got’ the placepot each day but actually lost 75% of my stake on Thursday as the divvy was so tight. Friday I just had it for loads of small lines to chisel a profit when I’d had a right good go looking for something to happen (as it often does on the Friday).

Hi, well done on the week! Just wandered how have you managed to keep these betting accounts open.

There are lots of accounts, Gavin, and plenty of them have been closed or restricted. I have three or four good ones left, but you’d have to ask the bookmakers your question rather than me. I’d guess there is no pattern to my betting and I make footy or proposition bets quite often, which perhaps helps. Honestly, I don’t know the answer, I’m afraid.

Well done Matt, I ended up 100 points up for the week after landing a 160/1 multiple which I was very pleased about. I will be in touch about advertising my service as I understand you can offer a few pointers/ideas. Thank you for sharing, always find your content so insightful.

im impressed you still have all those bookie options to bet with !!!

losing festival for me… learning every year, think going forward i will just leave the handicaps alone and betg on the level weight races, works for me during the winter so silly to change tac for the festival other than to just have a bet in each race.

would have returned a profit if dinoblue and shishkin would have won but never mind!
