Testing, Testing, 1-2-3

Hi everyone, my name is Chris Worrall and most of you know me via the two successful Geegeez tipping services Stat of the Day and Double Dutch.

Stat of the Day is a one bet per day selection generally based around the horse that satisfies more of my niche stats than any other available, whilst still offering good value at the prices selected.

Double Dutch, on the other hand, is 4 crossed doubles from 2 races, where we try to identify races where we feel confident that the winner will come from a shortlist of 2 (possibly 3) runners.

Both of the above services have proved to be successful from both a strike rate and profit perspective and it is now my intention to launch a commercially available tipping service of my own. This service, when launched will be independent of any Geegeez package and will be run by myself as a separate entity.

I have been privately proofing my selections to Matt here at Geegeez since mid-July and in 34 days of selections I have hit 37 winners from 104 selections at a strike rate of 35.6% with level stakes profits at advised odds of 15.27pts at an ROI of 14.68%.

I haven't yet thought of a name for my new service, but there are generally around 3 bets per day on average and I'm still testing, so for now it's Testing, Testing, 1-2-3!

The general plan is that I will open test the selections here on Geegeez for the next 8 weeks or so, by posting the selections here on a daily basis (generally before noon, but don't hold me to it!) and upon completion of a successful trial, I will be offering Geegeez Subscribers first option of joining a restricted member base on a first come, first served basis.

The full list below is in date order, so today's selections will always be at the bottom!

Chris Worrall

P.S. No selections on Sundays!

    Hi Chris
wouldnt it be easier doing the list the other way round with the newest at the top, saves having to scroll through all the old selections every day.
    Graham

    • Chris Worrall says:

      For the reader, most certainly.
For me, it’s neither here nor there, other than I’ll have to redo it! 😀

Our main concern with reporting any trial the other way is that people won’t/don’t look any further than the first entry and that a couple of consecutive losing days makes the whole trial look poor.

      Chris

PS The “Page Down” or “End” button could be your friend here. 😀

  2. twood715 says:

Great stuff Chris! As an ardent follower of SotD and an admirer of your ethic, expertise and honesty I would be very interested in subscribing to your service when it is launched.

    Good luck!

    Terry

  3. Blokeshead says:

“Worrall’s Winners” perhaps? (Hope that suggestion doesn’t mean you now don’t see a winner this side of Xmas!)

I wish you the best of luck, Chris.

  4. grahame18 says:

    Hi Chris
a great start 3 from 4 long may it continue
    thanks Graham
ps thanks for the advice above

  5. Fred says:

Wishing you all the best in your new venture and looking forward to joining the new service.
    Regards Fred.

  6. tonyb65 says:

Good luck with this Chris, as a loyal follower of SOD I shall follow this with interest and look forward to each days selections with eager anticipation and hopefully will become one of your subscribers.

  7. Durhamdave says:

Delighted to see a system being trialled in public. For most tipsters trying to flog a system this would be brave, but with your track record Chris, I will be following with great interest. Good luck.

  8. James Stephen Layden says:

Having followed Geegeez for a considerable time, I have profited from the really effective bank of stats, so expertly interpreted. The SOTD is consistently profitable over time. A tipster or approach delivering 26 points over 36 days is well worth following; a little tweaking of stakescould easily guarantee a point a day. At £20 a point, that’s over seven grand a year. Chris, your approach is informed, expert and consistent. I hope to secure one of your places. Well done! Stephen

  9. sondrio2 says:

i echo what james as just said, my first day following these tips and a nice profit.
    well done chris
    cheers george

    • Chris Worrall says:

That’s great, George, but my advice in these early days is to paper trial, but it’s your money 😀

  10. Fatboyjim says:

Appreciate what you say Chris but paper trading is rubbish! Not the same as proper backing as no emotion involved, if you trial something with small stakes the winning/losing means so much more and helps to make a decision as to whether to continue.

Having said that regardless of how the trial goes I will join the service as Chris has won me so much already with the other services!

  11. sondrio2 says:

appreciate that chris, i only use small stakes when trying out a new service, but to be honest i feel your credentials proven on here are more than enough for me to trust your efforts, win or lose.

  12. Jordan says:

I decided to start your trial today, literally just joined in for the 16.20 at Thirsk with a tiny £1 bet.
Winner! Got on at 7/2 (4.5) but still happy!

  13. lickybits says:

hi Chris, lots of tipping services promise amazing things but your the first i’ve known to be brave enough to show selections from the first day and let people follow how well your selections have done.

    im quite impressed

    • Chris Worrall says:

Glad you like what you see so far.
Like I said, these were privately proofed for the first 5 weeks, before going live on here 3 days ago.

To have hit 8 winners from 15 (53.33% SR) and 15.85 pts (+105.67% ROI) is a brilliant start for me and will catch the eye, but those results aren’t realistically sustainable.
Like all my stuff I post on geegeez, I will have my ups and downs, but I’m very confident of delivering long-term profit to those with a little patience and manageable realistic expectations.

      Chris

  14. lickybits says:

just a point… what does BOG mean, (best odds given?).
and when do you bet e/w? when there’s still a profit if the horse gets placed?
day 5 there was a horse 13/2 bog, 2nd at 7/1 was wondering why it wasn’t backed e/w, where it would have got a small return?

    • Chris Worrall says:

BOG = Best Odds Guaranteed. The bookies offering those are the ones to use in the main, unless you’re certain that your non-BOG price will shorten.

Quite simply, if you back a horse at 5/1 BOG and it wins at 7/1, you get paid at 7/1.
If the same horse won at 2/1, you still get your 5/1 guaranteed. In other words, the BOG price is the lowest you could receive from that bet, excluding Rule 4 deductions, of course.
      BOG is great for drifters.

      Megaleka on day 5?
      I thought it would win!

  15. deecaldee says:

Going well Chris 😀 Is there any way that the day’s post can appear at the top of the listing rather than the bottom?

    • Chris Worrall says:

      There is, but…
…we don’t tend to do that, people won’t read anything on the page.

If you press page down or end, it takes you there soon enough.

  16. simonr says:

well done Chris. I missed the first one coz I’ve been working in a rotten area for internet connection, but got the next E/W .
    Simon

  17. lickybits says:

i had a n e/w double, well done chris, very unlucky with 2nd horse, your service is looking impressive

  18. Iain says:

Unlucky yesterday I thought the ew double was in the bag but still a nice profit on the day. You are correct (and honest) to say that it is unsustainable as losing runs always follow winning ones…..but long term is THE KEY. Anyway now that I have started to follow you I always bring the kiss of death to any tipsters winning run.

  19. Doshtosh says:

Just seen this. I’m pretty sure that if the “system” holds up and with all your loyal S.O.T.D. followers you’ll have a full book of subscribers, very quickly. Good luck, Chris, with all of it, winners and members.

    • Chris Worrall says:

Thanks, John, but it’s really early days yet.
Good runs always follow bad runs and vice versa.
Something I’m always very keen to stress! 😀

      Chris

  20. sondrio2 says:

not a good day yesterday chris but if its any consolation the midas method had a shocker yesterday as well, thankfully the stat of the day was a welcome lifeboat in the stormy sea,s that is horse racing. better luck today hopefully.
    cheers george

    • Chris Worrall says:

I think yesterday was inevitable really after the recent run.
The problem was that I had six that I all felt had an equal chance, so I put them all up.

As it was, they did all get the same result.

  21. Doshtosh says:

Really scorched, yesterday, those short ones are so difficult to use, especially if trying to make up for previous losses, but, hopefully, a lesson learned.
    Good luck, today.

    • Chris Worrall says:

Unless I’ve misunderstood your message (which is entirely possible 😀 ) I will have to disagree with you.
There’ll be good days and there’ll be bad days and yesterday’s selections fitted my MO regardless of price.

I felt I had a chance of a return from all three and that all three were as long in the market as they could possibly be, opening the door to some value.
As it was, the two shorties finished second and the E/W bet finished fourth. I may have lost three points, but it wasn’t that bad a day in my opinion.

Pivot Point was advised at 5/6 and was sent off at 2/5, so we got some value there and the horse was only beaten late on, whilst the E/W Perfect Words only missed a place by a neck and was only a further 2 heads away from winning.

Ups and downs, guys: yesterday was a down.

      Chris

PS There is nothing in place for loss recovery, so we’re never actually “trying to make up for previous losses”

Picked out Goodwood Storm yesterday evening using the race cards. It’s always good to have selections franked. Good luck today and congratulations for yesterday’s DD.

  23. lickybits says:

looking at your s/r against the competition your performing very well
27 points up to 1 pt stakes after 46 days is incredible..

    • Chris Worrall says:

Yes, nothing of much interest to me.
There was just one, but at 4/7 was far too short.

      Chris

  24. sondrio2 says:

thanks chris, far better to do nothing when its like that rather than just bet for the sake it.
    cheers george

    • Chris Worrall says:

      Yes, the 13/2 one.
When I edited this morning to add the results, I must have deleted the E/W bit.

      Generally, it’s E/W above 6/1.

  25. Fatboyjim says:

Put them all up Chris, I for one am perfectly happy to go with all ten if they are your selections

    • Chris Worrall says:

      Jim,
10 bets is far too many.
I’ve not really comfortable beyond three or four if truth be told.

Once you start venturing into large numbers of selections on a regular basis, there’s an element of fluke involved in getting a profit and the door is opened to allegations of throwing enough brown stuff at a wall to make some stick.

My whittling down skills need polishing! 😀

      Chris

  26. sondrio2 says:

a testing time indeed chris, you must have run a cat over in the last few days, a lot of nearly here and theres and lots of seconds, hope things pick up for you soon, im sure they will.

    • Chris Worrall says:

Not sure what’s going on, but hopefully as things settle, I’ll return to form.

  27. sondrio2 says:

im sure you will mate, the double dutch as been really close so many times of late as well, its a serious case of seconditus, the only cure is loads of winners and im sure your going to be banging em in again soon.

  28. twood715 says:

You’re not on your own Chris a lot of other services are finding it hard to find a winner – time of year perhaps. Ten selections is rather scary, great if they all come in!

    Terry

    • Chris Worrall says:

      You’re not wrong, Terry.

I’ve struggled with whittling them down of late, missing winners and putting losers up and I found little to spilt the runners on Saturday and they all ran pretty well in the end.

I did still manage to filter three winning bets out, that I felt didn’t offer enough value.
Had I kept them in, we’d have made even more profit! 😀

  29. sondrio2 says:

bad luck with bronze angel chris, of course it had to go and win at 20/1 when you put no bet.
    its a funny old game

  30. Chris Worrall says:

    Sod’s Law, mate.
I just felt the race was too competitive and whilst he was my pick of the bunch, you really can’t advise confidently in races like that.

I did, however, back it myself.

  31. fredcm says:

Hi Chris glad you backed it I almost laid it but had second thoughts, best of luck for this week.

    • Chris Worrall says:

      That’s good to hear, Jim.
I only didn’t put it up as a selection, due to the competitiveness of he race.
It would have made a huge impact on my P/L, though!

  32. Fatboyjim says:

P/L is good enough as it is, looking at it so far you are on course for 100 points profit which is brilliant. Sometimes people only look at a bad run and forget the good runs before and after it, if all the winners actually won their races in consistent order, rather than in clusters then obviously that would be better, but it’s never going to happen.

I will take 100 points profit over a year very kindly thank you!

  33. Essexboy says:

Hi Chris You know that i follow you religiously But this is like going to the end of the world I have to go to end 4 times to get to page is there any quicker option ?

  34. fredcm says:

Hi Essexboy if you click on comments and then scroll up slightly you will find the current days selections.
    Good Luck Fred

  35. Simon says:

Hi Chris, this is all really promising, fantastic work. I know you are transparent as possible, so just want to point out some of the advised top prices are not with the BOG firms. Will you be watching out for this?

    • Chris Worrall says:

      Simon,

Don’t take this the wrong way, but…
if I say they’re BOG, they are BOG.

I tend to stick to BOG firms for 99% of all my betting activity.

      Chris

    • Chris Worrall says:

Cheers, but seriously they are kosher prices.
One of my pet hates is commercial advisory services quoting unobtainable prices.
I’d be a hypocrite to do the same.

      • Matt Bisogno says:

Suggest going forwards – and that phrase is framed by a convo Chris and I need to have – that we’ll be referencing the BOG firm involved. 🙂

  36. bigvern63 says:

Decent strike rate and ROI Chris, been following with interest. Thanks and look forward to hearing more shortly.

    Cheers, Chris

  37. Hopper says:

Thanx Chris for Your dilgence, both past & current; & also for the Transparency re.Testing123.
I have an Iron Rule never to strike OddsOn Shots; would it be possible to provide S.R. & P/L stats minus OddsOn selections? Cheers & Thanx again ~ PaulJo $

    • Chris Worrall says:

      Hi,

Yes, I’m not too keen on odds on betting either and I do my best to avoid it where possible.
The original trial shows why with 9 winners from 16 odds on advised bets still producing a loss of 0.14pts.

Without these odds on selections (3 of which won at evens or higher) the overall position would be:

      82 winners from 253 = 32.41% SR
29.25pts profit at an ROI of 11.56%

      Hope this helps,
      Chris

  38. Daniel P Devlin says:

I have been up and down, round and round this page and cannot find any of today’s tip. You are starting proofing today, or have I jumped the gun, sorry if I have. Daniel

    • Matt Bisogno says:

You’ve jumped the gun, Daniel. 🙂

Today we have Double Dutch, and Stat of the Day on geegeez.

But the new trial won’t start until later in the week when the website woes (a different site, not geegeez) are resolved).

Thanks a lot for your interest,
      Matt
