Profound Beauty put out a good performance for a comfortable win, easily defeating her three challengers, to gain consecutive victories in the Group Three ITM/Springpaarden Fonds Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday.
The six-year-old mare set a even pace under the guidance of jockey Pat Smullen, who put Profound Beauty out in front early.
Snow Blizzard and Akzar followed the front runner with Indiana Gal sitting seven lengths back from the lead as they went into the back straight.
Rounding the last turn Smullen began to pick up the pace and the challengers began to struggle with Profound Beauty over the line in front by three lengths to runner up Akzar, with Indiana Gal picking up third place.
Extremely happy with his mare's display, Dermot Weld said, "She did exactly what was expected of her, she's a very high class mare."
On future events Weld said, "We'll see how she comes out of this first, but she'll probably go for the Yorkshire Oaks or the Irish St Leger next. We'll take things one race at a time."
