The DD frustration continued unabated yesterday, as our hopes were raised by Endeavor's excellent victory in race 1. We backed him at 11/2, and once he took the lead 3 out, it was game over as he stayed on well to secure a 5/1 win, beating the field by nine lengths or so. This set us up nicely for Grey Missile, who according to my 8 yr old daughter was an absolute cert (grey horses always win, Daddy). Unfortunately this horse hadn't read the script and was outpaced in the later stages, eventually finishing 5th.
That meant that those of you doing the double and two singles route got a return, but it was officially another nul points for DD. However, I do think the double isn't too far and hopefully I've found a couple to do the business today starting with the...
Kevin Ryan's newcomer She Can Jig has caught my eye this morning. There is bags of speed in her breeding as she's a Dutch Art (Group 1 and 2 winner) filly out of the 7f winner Dance Card. Kevin Ryan's horses are in good form at present with 3 wins and 4 places in the last week alone and he's pretty good at getting a tune out of a 2yr old on debut. In the last two seasons, he saddled up 19 such winners from 80 attempts for profits of 27.5pts at SP and 39pts at Betfair SP. She's one to keep an eye on in the market, but the current 15/2 looks quite attractive.
Flighty Clarets comes here in good nick, having gone very close over 6f last time, finishing like the proverbial train , if she can repeat that kind of form today, she should be a major player here at odds of around 6/1. She will be ridden by Tony Hamilton today, who has an excellent record on board Richard Fahey's horses this season, having won 18 of 82 races (22%) for 41pts (+50% ROI) at SP and 55pts (+67%) ROI at Betfair SP with E/W backers also benefiting from profits of some 50pts.
The double pays 117/2 (58.5/1) today and the place part is priced at 9/2, both with Bet365 (BOG, of course!).
Back She Can Jig and Flighty Clarets in an each way double with Bet365, the win part paying 58.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
