Sandown:

Class 2 five furlong handicap scheduled for 1.40: Favourites have won four of the seven renewals to date.  All seven winners have carried weights of 8-10 or more.

‘Esher Cup’ scheduled for 2.10: Only won favourite has prevailed since a 9/2 scorer in 2003 though that said, the last eight winners have scored at odds of 17/2 or less.  Eight of the last ten winners have carried weights of 8-12 or less.  John Gosden has saddled two of the last four winners and Hoarding (doubly engaged this week) was John’s only potential runner at the time of writing.

Group 2 one mile event scheduled for 2.40: Richard Hannon (Trumpet Major & Libranno entered at the time of writing) has saddled six of the last nine winners.  Favourites have won five of the last seven renewals during which time, the biggest priced winner was returned at 5/1.  Four-year-olds have won six of the last nine contests.

Classic Trial event scheduled for 3.15: Just two favourites have won during the last decade though that said, nine winners were returned at odds of 8/1 or less, eight of which were sent off at a top price of 11/2.

One mile conditions event scheduled for 3.50: Four favourites have obliged during the last decade during which time, the biggest priced winner was returned at just 6/1.

Ten furlong event for maiden fillies scheduled for 4.25: Favourites have won four of the five renewals whilst the other winner scored at just 4/1. Sir Henry Cecil declared his Dansili filly Riposte at the five day stage as the trainer attempts to land a hat trick in the race.

Three mile seven furlong handicap chase event scheduled for 4.35: The last ten winners have been returned at odds ranging between 5/1 and 33/1 with winning favourites conspicuous only by their absence.  Only two market leaders have finished in the frame during the last eight years.  Eight winners during the last decade carried a maximum burden of 10-13.

Three mile three furlong handicap hurdle scheduled for 5.05: Six-year-olds have secured four of the eight renewals, whilst favourites have won six contests thus far.  Six of the last seven winners have carried 10-12 or less, with market leaders coming to the gig on a hat trick on this occasion.
