Odds on ratio: 0/2

Leading trainers at Ascot in 2013:

5/22--Sir Michael Stoute (2/1*-15/2-7/2*-8/1-15/8*)

4/26--Aidan O'Brien (20/1-9/2*-15/2-5/4*)

3/8--Lady Cecil (9/2-2/1*-8/1)

3/33--Mark Johnston (6/1-9/2-11/4*)

48/62 winners (77.4%) were returned at odds of 12/1 or less

Trainers of most beaten favourites:

6--Richard Hannon (10/11-3/1-2/1-4/1-7/2-11/4)

4--Aidan O'Brien (5/2-5/2-9/4-10/11)

4--Sir Michael Stoute (5/2-7/2-6/1-6/1)

3--John Gosden (4/1-3/1-5/2)

3--William Haggas (11/8-10/1***-5/1)

3--David O'Meara (5/1 & 10/1***-7/1**)

‘Brown Jack Stakes’ scheduled for 3.10: The last ten winners have been returned at odds of 8/1 or less, statistics which include four successful favourites. Mark Johnston has saddled two winners during the study period with Mark holding three options at the time of writing. David Simcock was potentially represented by Ray Ward at the time of writing, David having saddled winners with his last two runners in the contest.

‘Valiant Stakes’ scheduled for 3.45: Three-year-olds have secured eight renewals during the last eleven years during which time, five favourites have prevailed. Nine of the last eleven winners were sent off at 11/2 or less.

Mark Johnston wins more than his fair share of these handicap events at Ascot and the trainer held three options earlier in the week for this all aged ten furlong event, which was scheduled to be contested at 4.20. Mark has saddled three of the last with winners in this particular event. Four-year-olds have won four of the last six renewals.

Class 4 five furlong handicap scheduled for 4.50: Four-year-olds lead the five-year-olds 4-2 via the last six renewals, whilst just one successful favourite (2011) has been recorded during the last eleven years. Six winners were returned at odds ranging between 10/1 and 66/1, with winners all recorded at 50/1 and 20/1. Last year’s 8/1 winner would also have been a winner in most books I’ll wager.
