Day 200 of the Double Dutch sees us bidding for a hat-trick, starting with the...

4.00 Beverley

Bling King, whilst not the most prolific horse around, does take well to these firmer tracks, having won three times and placed five more times from 15 runs on the quicker side of good. He's 3 from 7 at this level and drops down in trip after being beaten by just a neck in a big field handicap at Redcar on Monday.

He was staying on well that day and the step up in trip is set to help his cause here. He's in decent form, having won twice and placed twice in his last five outings and can be backed at 9/2 BOG today.

The problem is that he often runs into one just too good for him, as he did on Monday and today's fly in the ointment is the promising Genius Boy, who cost Godolphin 120,000 Guineas, yet never raced for them. He comes here on the back of a narrow win in a Wolverhampton maiden first time out, where he needed a bit further to be honest, which he'll get today.

An opening mark of 71 looks like he could well have something in hand here and it should be noted that runners at Beverley who won a maiden last time out are 12/44 in recent years. Genius Boy is currently your 2/1 BOG favourite.
5.05 Newcastle

David Barron has a good record here at Newcastle of late (6 winners and 3 placed from 14 in the last year) and over the last 6 months his 2 yr olds have been in decent form, with only one of twelve failing to finish in the first four home, with five winners and four placed. He runs the debutant Mignolino here at 9/2 BOG.

Mignolino cost 40,000 Euros as a yearling and is the first foal out of Caterina Di Cesi, who herself was a winner of sprint races in Italy and the half-sister of Risky who was a dual group 3 winner at this minimum trip.

It may well be that he needs the run first time out, which opens the door for 3/1 shot Low Cut Affair, who showed the benefit of a prior run when winning at Windsor last time out (10 days ago). That was his second run after finishing 4th on debut at Kempton.

Low Cut Affair faces No One Knows again today and although the latter is now 9lbs better off for this race, he still has over 4 lengths to find and I think that Low Cut Affair's front running tactics will give him too much to do late on.

4 x 0.5pt BOG doubles, as follows:
Genius Boy / Low Cut Affair @ 11/1 (2/1 & 3/1 : BetVictor)
Genius Boy / Mignolino @ 15.50/1 (2/1 & 9/2 : BetVictor)
Bling King / Low Cut Affair @ 19/1 (4/1 & 3/1 : BetVictor)
Bling King / Mignolino @ 26.50/1 (4/1 & 9/2 : BetVictor & PP)
