        Hi Conrad

Not at all sure why the video conked out. I’ve run through it myself just now and it seemed to work fine. Also, there’s a blue ‘video slider’ at the bottom. If you’re still having the problem and you move that, maybe you can jog it on a little.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi Matt great video again I love all the different compos that are available and every1 uses them so differently, I like to use the trainer snippets on the card and combine it with the pace set up and if they match it’s a bet for me I find it very profitable way aswel, but I just want to tank you and the team for sharing this unbelievable site with all of us thanks again and keep up the good work,

Yes, I use trainer snippets and pace myself, along with Instant Expert and speed ratings. Plenty of the other parts as well but I’d say that’s my core set right there.

Really pleased you’re having a good time with Gold.

Matt – hi – Doug Drake here – and yes the video was excellent but let me tell you where I am. I will try not to bore you but I have been a dedicated horse race student and bettor since 1988 after reading Clive Holts ‘How to be a successful punter’ – it had a magical inspiration on me and also as it happened coincided with the early publications of The Racing Post which became a devoted and trusted source of statistical information on which to make selection decisions, including the best Top Speed man ever,Tony Harbridge ! – Now – many – many ‘midnight candles’ later and into the ‘sea change’ of the BF internet era I have fashioned my own betting strategies which I enjoy doing on my main BF account – but – I have second account which I would like to use for some daily received info without any research needed to be done on my part – perhaps like your STOTD but of a more plural nature – let me know – Rgds – Doug

        Hi Doug

Thanks for your comments. Let me take your two points separately, if I may:

Statistics – RP has fairly limited stat information in my opinion. Certainly compared with our trainer and horse (and sire and jockey) statistical content, it’s pretty basic at RP. Moreover, they tend to separate the stats from the actual race, where we’ve explicitly placed the relevant information right in the form line for the horse/trainer/jockey/sire.

‘Received info’ – By this it sounds like you mean tips. Fair enough. SotD is a good starting point for this, and there is also an excellent forum thread which might lend itself to that approach. However, it should be said that one needs a large number of points starting bank (500) and the will to place up to 100 bets a day. In return, the method made over 10,000 points (you read that right) profit last year, all proofed in the forum. To be honest, I don’t think it’s everyone’s cup of tea, because it requires rigid discipline and a decent bank to start out. But it’s very impressive, I have to say, and might suit your style.

More food for thought in the coming days,
        Matt

    Hi Matt,
Very interesting stuff the stats are great and look pretty user friendly. I am very interested in the tool kit and think I could put it to good use I pick quite a few long shot winers but thats purely from my knowledge of watching races and seeing when some horses are ridiculously overpriced. Obviously they don’t all win or I wouldn’t be looking at your site. Think it would be great to be able to put some stats to my own thoughts and see how they pan out, maybe a key to being a lot more consistent.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Tony

Yes, absolutely. Our stats are all placed contextually in the racecards, as well as separately in reports, so you can look ‘top down’ at the day’s racing, or ‘bottom up’ at a single race.

If you like stats, you’re going to love this!

      Hi Steve

You’re most welcome! I think we all want a good proportion of our bets to be winners, but if we’re backing them at slightly bigger odds, we need less winners to pay for the losers! That’s the first part of course, before looking to move into profit territory.

And, as I’m always saying, it needs to be a fun pursuit as well, or there’s very little point…

      More soon,

      Hi Raymond

      Thanks for watching the video.

As for being clever enough, you only need to be able to go to a web page and find the name of a horse in order to use Stat of the Day. If you never used anything else, you’d cover yourself easily with that.

But everything else is laid out in a straightforward manner, and you’ll be able to dip in and out as and when you want to.

I should add that a majority of Gold subscribers are 55+, many of them 70+, so it’s certainly not an ‘age’ thing. Silver surfers welcomed!

      Best,
      Matt

p.s. “I just want to enjoy my racing and make a little profit.” <<< You have summed up my feelings precisely in that one sentence. I think most people feel that way, and I believe Geegeez Gold can definitely help!

    Hello Matt
Years ago l used to use the uksporthorseracing news group. There was one member who used to email (for free) statistical breakdowns for many of the days racing. For example the summary used to include, for example the top 3 in the weights used to win lets say 78% of the time,and/or lets say the first 3 in the betting won 86% of the time.l followed this religiously and where large % probabilities occoured l used to have exciting results. In fact, till this day l have never had a better run of winners….ever! The trouble is that the author ceased email the information after about 10 months (l think).l tried to contact the member but he chose another career away from racing (not sure what). Now the members generosity was obviosly very admirable, and l would be only very willing to pay for the same information.
Have you heard of the system, and if so would you be willing to compile simular or the same data?

You obviously haven’t taken time to read some of the other comments. I can understand why you – anyone, in fact – would be cautious when listening to someone talk about a service. But asking for, and receiving, a free trial proves absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. I will have a far better offer than that, in due course.

Between now and then, I will have something completely free, which is not a trial but a full featured product that you can use – or not use – for as long as you want.

Stay tuned, and stay open-minded if you don’t mind 😉

Another great video, the trainer jockey combo is indeed awesome, you cannot fail to unearth a few winners every week with very little effort, also your approach to heavy conditions and selecting horses that have shown they can win in the past as led me to some decent priced winners and each way successes as you have mentioned this approach in the past. These videos are very helpful indeed and i look forward to the next one.

      Hi George

I know you’re a big fan of TJ Combo. I, like you, think it’s excellent and insightful – as you say, finds so many good winners. Instant Expert, heavy ground and the ‘rule of two’ led me to Sea Wall today. Missed the 6/1, but got 5/1 which I was happy enough with (seeing as it was sent off 3/1 favourite).

I’ll be doing a lot more ‘how to’ stuff in the coming weeks and months, so hopefully there will be some further pointers in there that you can incorporate in your betting.

    Hi Matt
Thank you for the video. I remember looking at your race cards when you first started putting them together on your site. I felt overwhelmed by the amount of data and navigating around it (I’m 63 btw) and didn’t subscribe. However, this video has persuaded me to think again at joining, if I think it can be affordable. Looks like some of your members are covering the costs comfortably and if there’s a decent trial offer available then I’m definitely interested. Some big jump meetings coming up and, of course, the start of the flat so it would be the perfect time to start .

      Hi Jim

Thanks for your comment. As I’ve said elsewhere in the comments section (don’t worry, I don’t expect anyone to read them all!!), age is not an issue – plenty of 60, 70, even 80+ Gold subscribers.

But overwhelm is a very real and common problem. It’s my job to help you understand which elements are going to be ones you want to engage with. For example, I very rarely look at jockey form on the racecards – unless it’s an amateur rider race – and I’m not particularly fussed for the comments on there either. But I will religiously check trainer and horse form, and often head to head and sire info.

It’s different strokes for different folks. As I say, my job is to help you understand what you want to engage with – and to be comfortable with ignoring the rest!

There will be a solid trial offer, I promise. 🙂

      Hi Roddo

Thanks for the kind words. I’ve known you for long enough to know you’re a plain speaker and not one to offer praise blithely, so I appreciate your comments.

Regarding SotD, I was actually waiting for someone to pick up on that!

It’s a bit of an ‘in joke’ between me, Chris and Steve that I don’t back SotD. It’s obviously not because it’s not profitable – as you can vouch – but, rather, because I don’t want to back someone else’s judgement. The whole point for me is to test myself against the market, and come out in front. I derive no fun from backing someone else’s judgement.

As I’m always saying, I bet for fun and profit. There’s no joy for me in copying someone else. I’m certainly not knocking that, but it’s not what I want to do.

Hope that makes sense. Very good question, and one that I was waiting for!!!

Fantastic video Matt. I’m just interested to know why you prefer to use BOG bookies instead of Betfair SP for big priced selections?

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Mark

Thank you for the comment, and for the very good question. It’s a slightly macho thing in that I back horses that I expect to shorten, often significantly. The sensible thing to do would be to look back at the winners and compare prices taken with BFSP, which I’ve never done.

I suspect there’d be little in it – very much a case of swings and roundabouts – but to be blunt I genuinely don’t know and might be missing a significant trick. When this has all quietened down a bit, I’ll go through my accounts and get a view on this.

Again, really good question – thanks for asking.

Hi Matt, great presentation, but must admit in the past that I have been put off by the amount of information to assimilate, sometimes I think you can have too much information which can confuse you in the end. As you have said, it is up to you to find an angle that appeals to yourself. I will certainly have a look when the offer comes through. One last question, you are probably well known to the bookmakers by now, how do you keep your accounts open when you are obviously successful? I have given up with bookies and do most of my activity on betfair now.

    • Matt Bisogno says:

      Hi Barry

It’s definitely about picking out the info that is useful to you, and which fits into your existing betting style. Keep it simple is the best route to avoid overwhelm (which, by the way, is a common emotion when first being confronted with Gold!)

Regarding keeping accounts open, I don’t do anything particular, and I do have a number of restricted/closed accounts as well. My betting pattern doesn’t mimic tipsters (I don’t follow any, not even SotD, preferring to test myself against the market), so I don’t have a ‘footprint’ as such. I may also be a ‘marker account’ in some ways. Because I’m a fair judge but don’t stake much, it may be worth keeping my account open to help traders. That’s idle – and arguably even arrogant – speculation on my part. The simple truth is, I don’t know. But I think, ultimately, if I only had Betfair as an option, I’d still finish up pretty much in line with where I am via the books.

      That’s quite a long-winded way of saying “I don’t know”!

      Hi Oliver

Yes, plenty of people trade off the data at geegeez. Trading early prices is possible via Instant Expert, which flags ostensibly out of form horses that are returning to conditions to which they are well suited before the market cottons on; and in running traders use our pace maps to establish the shape of races and who is most likely to have early position.

      Hope that helps,
