Already I see that White Frost is a non-runner in the 5.30 at Goodwood. Had I known this when I posted then the selection would have been Dubawi Sound, which would have failed the minimum price criteria anyway. If it would help anyone for me to put up the names of the bookies offering the best prices let me know, otherwise I assume that people will check for the best prices themselves. I recommend the latter as the prices can change a lot so early in the day, already I see that Gracie’s Games is available at 15 with William Hill (advised at 13)

if you don’t get the early price for any reason and it contracts does the selection then become a no bet?

    • MikeA says:

Hi Thomas, for consistency I will be looking at the prices at 9am and making the decision as to whether the price is within the range at that point (I can’t usually monitor prices during the day). So the ones I put up will be recorded in the results, if any fall below the price range when you place your bets then you should still back them unless the price has collapsed completely.

  3. MikeA says:

Easy enough to record the results today: 9 bets (2 non-runners), 9 losers and 9 points down. At these prices we have to expect days like today, but it would have been nice to get off to a good start – or even get a couple of decent runs for our money. No consolation to anyone just starting with these, but this is the first losing day out of the last 7. Ultra competitive handicaps at Goodwood and some poor quality at the other tracks probably not the best way to start, but the racing looks better tomorrow so we can get back on track.

I’m recommending 200 points, Geoff, but that’s probably me being over cautious.
