After a triumphant feature event atop Summit Surge, Kieren Fallon grabbed a rapid-shot double on mount Hawkeyethenoo in the Sky Bet Dash at York.
Trained by Jim Goldie the four year old seemed to be troubled by the fast pace early, but his resolute jockey pulled it together and flourished through inside the last furlong to grab the win by a head from runner up Kaldoun Kingdom.
Acclaiming jockey Fallon's labours, Goldie was extremely pleased with his achievement.
He said, "He gave him a lovely ride and if I can secure him again then we would probably have a go at the Stewards' Cup next week.
"Kieren rode him with confidence and knows him well by now.
"He gave him time to build his confidence having got stuck in the stalls last time.
"The Ayr Gold Cup is the main aim."
Frankie Dettori claimed victory from an early stage, coming in for a spare ride on Face The Problem in the Skypoker.com Stakes.
The 7-4 favourite of Barry Hills had found victory at Windsor over 6 furlongs in his last race, lowering to shorter distance with great ease this time.
Hills' son, Michael should have had the ride but, when he was delayed in traffic close to Tadcaster Dettori fronted up and waving to the stands as he crossed the line a length and a quarter free of runner up Brave Dream.
Assistant trainer Charlie Hills said of the victor, "He's got bags of speed and Frankie said the Flying Childers could be the race for him.
"He's in the Gimcrack, but he's got so much toe we might be best sticking to five furlongs for now, we can always go six later.
"He drifted left again, like he did at Windsor, but I think that's just inexperience."
Dettori stated, "He's got tremendous speed and I felt like I had everything beaten at halfway, he was just cruising."
With the biggest triumph of her career so far, Tracy Waggott raced to victory on Destinys Dream in the skybet.com E.B.F Fillies' Stakes .
"Today's race had been in mind for a while and I'm delighted," said Waggott.
"She only just gets the mile and a half at Doncaster so a drop in trip today was ideal.
"I was delighted that it's dried up as she loves quick ground.â€
