Placepot pointers – Sunday 22nd November 2015

It should be noted that placed/unplaced records are in line with the ruling of bookmakers, i.e. only one win and one place in races for 5/6/7 runners etc.

Corresponding details for Sunday:

Placepot dividends at Exeter for the last three years:

2014: £105.30 (7 favourites - 2 winners – 1 placed - 4 unplaced)

2013: £544.50 (6 favourites - 1 winner – 1 placed - 4 unplaced)

2012: ABANDONED

2011: £181.80 (6 favourites - 2 winners & 4 unplaced)

Average dividend: £277.20

Favourites (19): 5 winners – 2 placed – 12 unplaced

Exeter's 2013 dividend was a fine example of how Placepot investors should not get carried away with the idea that massive outsiders are needed to create a bid dividend.

The £544.50 return was declared despite that this was essentially, a five leg ‘Pot’, as a 1/5 chance took the opening event.

Suffice to say that 15/18 available Placepot positions were secured by horses returned at odds of 8/1 or less, proving that provided you can successfully omit beaten market leaders in your permutations, the inclusion of second and third favourites can reap great rewards if they reach the frame in relevant contests.
