Overview for Sunday - please scroll down to the bottom of the page
1.50: Jamie Snowden has secured the last two contests when represented and Jamie has offered the green light to OUR THREE SONS on this occasion. Jamie has saddled three of his last nine runners to winning effect whereby Brendan Powell's mount is the first name on the team sheet. OUR THREE SONS just happens o be a five-year-old, with vintage representatives having won three of the six contests to date. The pick of the other trio of five-year-olds should prove to be KNIGHTLY PLEASURE, with six-year-old FOUNTAINS WINDFALL the potential joker in the pack from a vintage perspective.
Favourite factor: Favourites have won four of the last five renewals, whilst five market leaders have finished in the frame via six renewals. The only 'jolly' to miss out was a Paul Nicholls favourite which was sent off at the shortest price of all the favourites at 4/11.
Fontwell record of course winners in the opening event:
1/1--Fountains Windfall (good)
1/3--Knightly Pleasure (heavy)
2.20: ILEWIN FOR HANNAH has won on the last two outings when completing the course and having won before here at Fontwell on good ground, Gary Moore's Generous gelding should represent the local yard to decent effect. Gary has declared nine runners on the card and his nine-year-old looks to have one of the better chances relating to the relevant stable companions. KIMORA defends a 2/2 record at the track, with Conrad Allen's ten-year-old also entered into the overnight equation, possibly alongside BUCKHORN TOM.
Favourite factor: This is the first of three new races on the Fontwell card.
Fontwell record of course winners in the second race:
3/10--Double Chocolate (2 x good & soft)
1/6--La Madonnia (good)
2/2--Kimora (good to soft & good)
1/4--Ilewin For Hannah (good)
1/3--Joe The Rogue (good to soft)
2.50: It could be argued that SIR DYLAN has only gone up four pounds via his second successive win, given David Noonan's claim and there is every chance that a hat trick could be on the cards for Polly Gundry's Dylan Thomas gelding. That said, THEPARTYSOVER is a live threat on the pick of his form, whilst GIVEAGIRLACHANCE completes my trio against the other nine contenders. The overnight reserve nomination is awarded to SHALIANZI.
Favourite factor: This is the second of the new contests on the programme.
Fontwell record of course winners in the third contest:
1/7--Ourmanmassini (good to soft)
1/2--Epsom Flyer (good)
1/6--Shalianzi (good to soft)
1/10--Sun Quest (good to soft)
3.25: OSGOOD is another Gary Moore on the card with definite claims, notwithstanding his 2/4 record at the venue. The ground is not a worry and Gary's Danehill Dancer raider goes straight into the Placepot mix. Seven races have slipped by since KASTANI BEACH scored but the positive side of that sequence is that KASTANI BEACH now runs off the same mark as when last successful. Others to consider include THE KVILLEKEN and OCCASIONALLY YOURS.
Favourite factor: This is the second division of the new race in the previous event.
Fontwell record of course winners in the fourth race:
1/7--Occasionally Yours (soft)
2/4--Osgood (good to firm & good to soft)
3.55: SAINT ROQUE boasts a 2/2 record at the venue and with Paul Nicholls having sent three of his last five runners to winning effect (before Saturday's sport was contested), Conor O'Farrell's mount demands plenty of respect. BOB TUCKER and ANTHONY are feared most.
Favourite factor: Only one of the four favourites has gained a Placepot position by winning the relevant contest at 3/1. The other two gold medallists scored at 4/1 & 5/1, whilst seven of the eight available Placepot positions have been claimed by horses sent off at a top price of 7/1.
Fontwell record of course winners in the fifth event on the card:
2/2--Saint Roque (good to firm & soft)
4.30: Anthony Honeyball boasts a 30% strike rate at Fontwell during the last five years and the pick of his three runners on the card on Sunday will hopefully prove to be HORACE HAZEL. Having won at the first time of asking last season after an extended break from the racecourse, LEADEROFTHEDANCE should figure prominently, whilst VENDREDI TROIS has claimed one gold medal and two of the silver variety when completing the course in recent times. If we could be certain of Emma Lavelle's seven-year-old getting home safely, VENDREDI TROIS could prove to be a decent each way bet.
Favourite factor: Last year's inaugural race was won by the 2/1 market leader.
Fontwell record of course winners in the Placepot finale:
1/1--Tokyo Javilex (good)
All place details offered on my pages relate to an 'exact science', whereby horses that finish third in 5/6/7 runner races (and other such scenarios) are not 'placed' regarding my statistics.
