Overview for Tuesday - please scroll down to the bottom of the page

12.40: Despite the fact that four-year-olds have secured four of the nine contests thus far, vintage representatives are only conspicuous by their absence this time around.  Local trainer Gary Moore is one of only two handlers to have saddled three winners (8/1, 9/2 & 7/4*) at this corresponding fixture during the last five years and Gary will fancy his chance here having declared HERMOSA VEQUERA to attempt to land this opening event for the fourth time in nine years. Harry Cobden’s three pound claimer will aid and abet the chance of course and distance winner BENBECULA from my viewpoint, whilst BULLETPROOF completes my trio against the other seven contenders.
Favourite factor: Four of the nine favourites to date have finished in the frame (one winner).

Course winners in the opening event:

1/3--Benbecula (good to soft)

1/2--Wooly Bully (good)

1/7--Thepartysover (soft)

1.10: Chris Gordon (25/1, 4/1 & 4/1**) is the other trainer I referred to in the opening event and though Chris has stronger chances at the meeting, plenty of each way support will come in for THE CHUCKMEISTER I’ll wager.  REMEMBER FOREVER jumped the opposition into submission at Lingfield two weeks ago though on better ground, it is debatable if Richard Rowe’s raider will double his win tally on his tenth assignment.  MOTHER MELDRUM has been dropped three spots by the handicapper and with a seven pound claimer in the plate, Vic Dartnall’s seven-year-old could run off just a one pound higher mark than when winning her two races to date.
Favourite factor: This is a new race on the Fontwell card.

1.40: Alan King boasts a 27% strike rate via seven winners of late and with three runners on the card, Alan has a fine chance of increasing the ratio, possibly starting with RAINBOW DREAMER in this event.  VOLPONE JELOIS is the only Paul Nicholls runner at the track on Tuesday with the trainer boasting a ratio of 8/14, stats which have produced 18 points of level stake profits at the venue this season.  Gary Moore saddles a couple of winners in the field but the trainer will have been disappointed by the majority of his runners at Sandown last weekend (10 losers – seven of which started at 7/1 or less) and I doubt that he will find compensation in this grade/company.
Favourite factor: Eight of the last twelve favourites have finished in the frame (five winners) though heavy investors should be warned that horses at 1/6 and 1/5 have been turned over in recent years.  That said, favourites have won four of the last five contests.

Course winner in the third race on the card:

Your first 30 days for just £1

1/1--Sisania (good)

2.10: All three winners have carried 11-12 to victory and only PETE THE FEAT ‘qualifies’ on this occasion, though giving weight to these five rivals might prove difficult, especially with fellow course and distance winner LEO LUNA and ST DOMINIK also having been declared.  PETE THE FEAT is a winner of nine races, though eleven assignments have come and gone since the last success was gained.
Favourite factor: The inaugural 2/1 favourite finished out of the frame in a short 'field event'.  Punters have subsequently got their own back with 5/4 and 3/1 market leaders having obliged.  New readers might want to know that the term 'short field' refers to races in which 5/6/7 runners compete for the first two positions from each way and toteplacepot perspectives.

Course winners in the fourth event:

2/14--Peat The Feat (good to soft & heavy)

2/3--Leo Luna (good & heavy)

1/4--Royal Native (good)

2.40: Alan King saddles two horses and it is hardly surprising to find Wayne Hutchinson partnering MY KHALEESI, last month’s Cheltenham ‘winner’ who fought tenaciously all the way to the line to share the spoils at Prestbury Park.  Nicky Henderson’s lone raider on the card is SILENT STEPS who is expected to provide the stiffest opposition in a half decent event compared to the average Tuesday afternoon at Fontwell.
Favourite factor: The inaugural (marginal) odds on favourite snared a toteplacepot position behind horses sent off at odds of 5/1 & 11/2.  The front three in the market finished 15 lengths clear of their nearest rival.  Thankfully for the majority of punters, the last two (4/5 & 7/4) market leaders prevailed.

3.10: Eight of the last nine winners have carried a maximum weight of 11-1, with five of the eight runners ‘qualifying this year if taking a jockey claim into account.  My short listed trio consists of KILLABRAHER CROSS, MICQUUS & JAMRHAM.
Favourite factor: Five of the eleven favourites have secured toteplacepot positions via ten renewals to date, statistics which include three winners.

Course winner in the Placepot finale:

1/3--Sitting Back (soft)

All place details offered on my pages relate to an 'exact science', whereby horses that finish third in 5/6/7 runner races (and other such scenarios) are not 'placed' regarding my statistics.
