Race of the Day - 14:30 Fontwell

The Horses For Courses report is available to all registered users on a Friday, and it shows that Kentford Heiress has done really well when running at Fontwell in the past. From seven races there, she has won three of them and been placed in five, for level stakes profits of 11.00 and 15.45.

She runs in a two miles and three-furlong handicap hurdle there today.

The recent form of Kentford Heiress has been quite impressive, with a third place, two seconds and a win from her last four races. She was a good winner last month at Newton Abbot over 22 furlongs and has only been hit with a four-pound rise in the weights for that win.

The drop back in trip to 19 furlongs is a slight concern as she hasn't raced over that distance for a while.

Seamus Mullins has been in good form over the past month, sending out five winners (21.74%) from his last 23 runners, for a level stakes profit of 2.91 and an Impact Value of 2.31.

He also has a useful record with last time out winners, being 10/4r3 (23.26%) for 19.41 points.

There is very little to write home about when looking at the Instant Expert report, with just a few sections of green dotted about.

Kentford Lass does have two sections of green and one of amber so looks about the best suited to conditions here today. I mentioned that it has been a while since she raced over this distance, but she does at least have a win over the trip previously which is encouraging.

from looking at the Pace report we can see that early leaders here over this distance have an excellent record, with 20.16% of them going on to win the race for a level stakes profit of 46.62, and an Impact Value of 1.76.

There are a couple of front-runners in this field so the pace could be quite high early on. Kentford Heiress likes to be held up and if she can go with the early pace she will be in a great position to use her stamina towards the end of the race, especially if they go off too fast.

Very interesting stuff, as usual and I’m sure it won’t be lost on SotD readers that she’s a daughter of Midnight Legend!

And…Female offspring of Midnight Legend aged 5 to 10 yrs old who are running in a Class 3/4 handicap hurdle at trips shorter than 3m2f are 67/344 (19.5% SR) for 296.9pts (+86.3% ROI), of which LTO winners are 16/62 (25.8%) for 29.4pts (+47.4%)..
