Race of the Day - 18:45 Wolverhampton

Just the eight runners currently go to post for this 14 furlong 0-75 handicap on the all weather surface at Wolverhampton.

Lewis Edmunds, who rides Yasir here today, is a useful looking jockey and has a five pound claim which can come in very handy. He has been in excellent current form with six winners (20.69%) and 14 places (48.28%) from 29 runners, for level stakes profits of 5.00 and 4.43. He also has good course form and is 4/12 for 5.33 points.

Vosne Romanee stands out on the Instant Expert tab, as he has three sections of green and one of amber. He is two wins from two races here at Wolverhampton, and although he is eight pounds higher than for his last victory, he appears to have a live chance.

From looking at the Pace tab we can see that prominent horses have the best record, with 13.67% of them going on to win the race. Interestingly, leaders have the worst record, with just 7.01% of them winning, for a level stakes loss of 159.83.

Consortium is usually quite handy in his races, and along with Marshall Lad appear the most likely to be taking them along.

Fast Play and Yasir are definite hold up horses, and this style of running isn't too far behind prominent horses for the win and place ratio.

Horses For Courses is the free report for all members on a Friday, and it shows what an excellent record Yasir has here at Wolverhampton. From 20 races he has won five (25%) and been placed nine times (45%) for level stakes profits of 21.00 and 23.10 respectively. He is the outsider of the field at 22/1, but that looks very high to me and I wouldn't be surprised to see him run a big race with conditions to suit.
