Race of the Day - 19:55 Kempton

This is a nice looking Listed race over a mile and a half on the all-weather at Kempton.

Western Hymn is the short priced favourite, and given that he has been competitive in Group 1 races in the past, it is easy to see why. As can be seen by the green characters below his name, John Gosden has been in good form recently, and also has very useful course form.

When looking at the Instant Expert tab, both Berkshire and Hell Yeah stand out with three sections of green to their name. It should be noted however that Hell Yeah has had just the one run to date, where he was a course and distance winner in the summer of 2015.

It looks fairly certain that the early pace is going to be set by Hamelin and Kiltara. They both like to fly out of the stalls and have far higher pace scores than the rest of the field.

Horses that are prominent actually have a slightly better record than leaders here over this distance, however, there isn't a huge difference between any of the pace blobs, so I don't think it will have as an important part to play as it normally does.

It is interesting to see from the Draw tab that horses drawn in the centre have easily the best record. They have a win rate of almost 16% and have returned a profit to level stakes of 17.75.

Trainer Statistics is free to all users on a Wednesday, and when looking at the 'Course 5 Year Form' tab, it shows us that James Fanshawe has a wonderful record with his runners here at Kempton. His record reads 68 winners from 313 runners (21.73%) for a level stakes profit of 53.87. He runs Star Storm here today who is currently a 12/1 shot.
