The Horses For Courses report is excellent for quickly pinpointing courses that a particular horse excels at.
The Anabel Murphy-Generalyse has a great record at Leicester, having won half of his six races there, yielding a level stakes profit of 12.75.
If we take a look at the Full Form filter and select 'course' in the Course Characteristics option, it shows us that his most recent two runs here have been disappointing. However, there are reasonable excuses for both of those runs. The most recent run was over an inadequate trip of five furlongs, and to add to that, he was slowly away so never really in the race. Prior to that, it was over six furlongs but on good to soft ground, when he prefers it firmer.
His three wins here all have something in common, they were over six furlongs (today's trip) and on either good or good to firm ground (it's good to firm here today). He won this race last year in good style and he is just two pounds higher in the handicap today, so with a return to favourable conditions, he looks to have a chance of a big run.
Joshua Bryan takes the ride on Generalyse today, and he has been finding plenty of winners recently. He's also been placed in half of his races over the past 30 days, and as this is an apprentice handicap, he looks comfortably one of the best jockeys on show, in my opinion.
This is a race that doesn't have any recent winners in, and features horses sliding down the handicap, for whatever reason. Therefore, I don't think it will take a lot of winning and Generalyse is a reasonable bet at 9/1.
