Race of the Day - 15:15 Wincanton

The Trainer Snippets report shows that Nigel Hawke has an excellent record with last time out winners. From 40 runners he has had 15 winners (37.50%) and 24 places (60.00%) for level stakes profits of 14.25 and 14.55 respectively. This has also produced an Impact Value of 2.00, which means he is twice as likely as average to have the winner.

He runs Pearl Royale at Huntingdon today who was a winner last time out and makes her chasing debut today.

Pearl Royale hasn't run for nearly 300 days but prior to her layoff, she was in good form. She has three second places finishes and a victory in her last four races, with the win coming over this distance as she routed the field by 50 lengths.

She makes her chasing debut today, however, if she takes to the fences she could be a big price in this small field.

When looking at the jockey form from the racecard we can see that Gavin Sheehan has been in excellent form over the past month. He's had 11 winners (29.73%) and 17 places (45.95%) from 37 runners, for level stakes profits of 17.43 and 17.47 respectively, and an Impact Value of 2.80.

Pearl Royale looks one of the best on the Instant Expert report, with two sections of green and one of amber. This shows she is reasonably well suited to today's conditions and I am hoping she is able to put in a big run.

The Pace report shows that early leaders here over this distance have the best record, with 25.00% of them going on to win the race, producing an Impact Value of 1.53.

A lot of the field like to race quite prominently (including Pearl Royale) and it's actually quite tough to call who will take them along in the early part of the race.

With this being her first race over fences, hopefully, Sheehan will be able to get her into a nice rhythm early on to give her the best chance.

Was winning by eleven lengths big enough for you, Steve?
Nice one, thank you very much – I even beat SP by a big margin.

      Just about, Paul 🙂

Great to hear that you were able to get on early enough to get the much bigger price that was available.
