Race of the Day – 26 July

Race of the Day - 18:10 Worcester

This is a beginners chase over two miles and seven furlongs with a couple of runners that look like they have the potential to turn into smart performers over the larger obstacles.

Jonjo O'Neill has the likely favourite here with In The Rough and he was rated as high as 140 over hurdles so is potentially quite useful. Clicking on the trainer icon below the horses name shows that Jonjo has a pretty solid record here at Worcester over the past five years, with over a third of his runners getting a place.

Both Kim Bailey and Dan Skelton also have good form here over the past five years, they are also in excellent current form and have been sending out winners over the past month.

In The Rough shows up really well on the Instant Expert tab with a full line of green to his name. Some of those races will have been over hurdles as he has had just the two chase runs to date, however it shows that he is at home with today's race conditions and is probably a worthy favourite.

Lady of Longstone also has a really good profile on this tab and if she takes to the fences in good fashion, she will definitely be one to watch.

Looking at the Pace tab we can see that Lady Of Longstone is a definite front runner and from the switching to the full form filter she has won over trips further than today's so stamina shouldn't be an issue. If she jumps well there is a chance that she could put pressure on the others and cause a few mistakes.

The pace tab also shows us that leaders have an Impact Value (IV) over 1.00, meaning they fare better than expectations.

If In The Rough can jump well then he is probably a worthy favourite, however with lots of others in the field that look to have plenty of potential, he is far too short for me and I would rather look elsewhere.
