Race of the Day - 16:10 Lingfield Park
This is a 0-75 amateur riders' handicap over a mile and a half, with quite a few big priced runners, meaning on the face of it we should be able to narrow the field down quite considerably.
Bamako Du Chatelet is the current favourite at 5/2, and he is the top rated on the Speed Ratings, with a mark of 60. As can be seen by the green characters below his name, trainer Ian Williams has been in good recent form, and also has a useful record at the course. You can see this in a lot more detail by clicking the trainer icon below the horses name.
Bamako Du Chatelet stands out with a really good showing on the Instant Expert tab, having four sections of green and one of red. He has only had the one win from ten races in this class, but that is the only bad point. He is just three pounds higher than when winning last time out, and is clearly in good form so I'm not sure if that will be enough to stop him.
A lot of the rest of the field have quite a few sections of amber, but there is very little green elsewhere.
From looking at the pace tab we can see that there is very little bias when comparing running styles. There is less than 1% between leaders, prominent runners and those that run in mid division, when looking at eventual winners. This means that if you find one that ticks a lot of boxes, don't be put off wherever they usually run.
It does look like Noguchi and Tempuran, and maybe Bamako Du Chatelet will be at the head of affairs early on. I wonder if due to there seemingly being a lot of hold up horses in the race, one of these won't make a bid for victory from quite a long way out and try and catch the rest of the field off guard.
Horses For Courses is the free report for all users on a Friday, and it shows us what an excellent record Attain has here at Lingfield. He's raced here 16 times, and had four wins (25%) and seven places (43.75%) for level stakes profits of 38.33 and 43.67 respectively. This definitely makes him one to have a closer look at.
