The Trainer Snippets report highlights what a good record Keith Dalgleish has with last time out winners. He's had 40 winners (23.26%) and 86 places (50.00%) from 172 runners, for level stakes profits of 18.37 and 25.59 respectively. Han Solo Berger is his runner today that fits this description and he is racing at Carlisle.
Han Solo Berger has had two races to date, a good third on his debut here at Carlisle in what looks like a strong novice stakes as there have been seven races won by runners in that race subsequently. He then managed to dig deep and find plenty under pressure when winning over today's trip at Hamilton.
He does have to carry top weight in this race because of that win, however, he will have learnt a lot of his two races which helps to offset that.
Both trainer Keith Dalgleish and jockey Paul Mulrennan has useful records here at Carlisle as can be seen by looking at their 'form' on the racecard which can be done by clicking on the trainer and jockey icons below the horse's name.
Dalgleish is 12/52 (23.08%) here over the past year for a level stakes profit of 11.55. Mulrennan has an even better strike rate for the year as he's 10/40 (25%) for a level stakes profit of 13.00.
The pace of the race is almost impossible to judge due to the very small numbers of runs between the whole field.
Early leaders here over this distance do have a good record, with 19.27% of them winning the race for a level stakes profit of 54.27. Encouragingly, Han Solo Berger was quickly away last time and after getting to the front, the rest were unable to pass him. Mulrennan was the jockey that day as well so I am hoping for a repeat performance here today.
