Race of the Day - 20:15 Chelmsford

This is not a bad looking 0-85 handicap over seven furlongs on the all weather at Chelmsford.

Strong Challenge is quite an interesting runner here, as he was deemed good enough by Godolphin to contest a Group 2 in 2015, after winning his maiden in fine style. He has been off the track since last summer, so an eye should be kept on how the market reacts.

Bin Suroor does have a very good record here at Chelmsford, with 10 winners from 21 runners (47.62%) over the past year, for a level stakes profit of 11.60. He is also very good at readying horses after a break of 60 days plus, where his record is 46/161 (28.57%) and 60.53 points.

The Instant Expert tab is free to all users for every race on a Thursday, and here we can see that Ballylare has a lovely line full of green, so he really stands out as being very nicely suited by today's conditions. He is four pounds higher than for his last victory, which was over course and distance, and this lightly raced four year old has scope for further improvement.

From looking at the Pace tab, it definitely appears to be beneficial to be either leading early on, or prominently ridden.

Ballylare has the highest pace score from the last four runs and looks likely to be handy early on, along with Kingsley Clarion and Shypen.

There is a definite draw bias, with high drawn runners having easily the best record. They have a win record of 18.92% for a level stakes profit of 30.50.

It should be noted that a couple of the fast starters, Ballylare and Shypen are drawn one and two, therefore there is the possibility that they will be able to negate their poor draw somewhat by getting to the front early on.
