Race of the Day - 15:25 Lingfield

Horses For Courses is the report that is available to all registered users on a Friday, and it shows that Cayuga has a useful looking record when racing at Lingfield, From eight race on the polytrack there, he's had three winners (37.5%) and six places (75%), for level stakes profits of 26.25 and 37.16 respectively.

He runs is a one mile and five furlongs claiming stakes there today and is currently the 9/4 favourite.

When looking at the form of Cayuga it is clear to see he appears far more at home on the all-weather courses, and he was a winner here at Lingfield on his penultimate start.

The step up in distance today is a bit of an unknown, but he shapes as if there is a chance he will enjoy further so I am hopeful he'll be able to see out the final couple of furlongs.

Trainer Brett Johnson has been in good form recently. Over the past 30 days, he's had two winners (28.57%) and three places (42.86%) from seven runners, for level stakes profits of 11.50 and 14.00 respectively and an Impact Value of 2.47.

He also does well here at Lingfield. Over the last year, he's had three winners (15%) and six places (30%) from 20 runners, for level stakes profits of 27.50 and 29.53 respectively and an Impact Value of 1.29.

Jockey Rossa Ryan claims five pounds which is a big help and he has a great record when riding at Lingfield. From his last 32 runners here, he's had six winners (18.75%) and 14 places (43.75%), for level stakes profits of 46.00 and 51.70 respectively and an Impact Value of 1.57.

The Instant Expert report shows that Cayuga is reasonably well suited to today's conditions, with one section of green and two of amber. It does highlight his excellent course record.

Ceyhan looks really well suited to this, having four sections of green and one of grey having never run over this distance either. He could prove to be a big danger if getting the distance.

The Pace report shows that prominent runners have the best strike rate, with 19.20% of them going on to win the race, for level stakes profits of 9.03 and an Impact Value of 1.53.

Cayuga is usually held up and waited with and I would expect similar tactics here today with the trip being an unknown. There appears to be very little pace in the pace, therefore, it could mean they go off at a crawl which could help with the stamina question for him.
