Race of the Day – 6 Jul

Race of the Day - 14:00 Haydock

This is a fillies handicap being run over a mile on good ground at Haydock.

La Celebs Ville is chasing a hat trick after two wins over course and distance (on good to firm and soft ground) where she battled on well on both occasions. She has been raised a further five pounds for the latest win, but seems to be in great shape and further improvement wouldn't be a surprise. Trainer Tom Dascombe also has an exceptional record here at Haydock, as over the past five years he's had 57 winners (18.57%) and 112 places (36.48%) from 307 runners, for level stakes profits of 107.14 and 105.36 respectively. She is also a long way clear on the Speed Ratings with a score of 83.

The three year old Miss Sheridan has won three out of her last four races, only beaten when stepped up significantly in class and distance. She has risen up the weights on the back of those three wins, however a two pound rise for her latest win in a better race than this at Carlisle, doesn't appear to be too prohibitive.

The Instant Expert report is available to all registered users for every race on a Thursday, and it is an excellent tool for highlighting those runners that are particularly well suited by the day's racing conditions.

Miss Sheridan comes out best here, with three sections of green and one of amber. She has never run here at Haydock before, but the rest looks very good and as mentioned above, is just the two pounds higher than for her last victory.

There looks to be a lot of pace in this race and it appears that it will be run at quite a rate of knots. Early leaders here over this distance have a decent record, with 16.58% of them winning the race, for a level stakes profit of 24.04.

Miss Sheridan and Conqueress are both definite confirmed front runners and have led in each of their last four races. They are drawn near to each other in stall one and three, so it is very likely the early pace is going to be among the low numbers.

Low drawn horses appear to have a reasonable advantage when looking at the Draw report, therefore a low drawn runner with early speed looks to have an excellent chance. Miss Sheridan ticks a lot of the right boxes, and may just prove to be a little bit of value in an open race.
