Race of the Day

Race of the Day – 6 Oct

Race of the Day - 16:15 Hereford

Run over three miles and one furlong, this is quite a nice looking handicap chase with a number of the runners rated in the 130's.

The Tourard Man, trained by Alan King, is chasing a five timer having won his last four races, including two of them over fences in novice chases. He steps into handicap company for the first time over fences, but looks a potentially smart horse.

The Instant Expert tab is one of the most popular aspects of the Geegeez Gold form tools, and it is available to everybody for all races on Thursdays.

The Tourard Man stands out immediately having four sections of green from a decent sample of races. He is definitely suited by today's conditions, and even though he is currently the favourite at a price 3/1, the way he has been winning his races suggests that there still may be some value in that price.

The rest of the field don't really stand out on this tab, little bits of green for a couple of the runners, and plenty of amber elsewhere.

Switching it to the place view reveals that Audacious Plan has the attributes to run a decent race, and at a price of 10/1, may be one for each way backers to consider.

From looking at the pace tab we can see that there isn't any real advantage regarding how the runners tackle this distance, which isn't too much of a surprise given the length of the race.

It does show however, that it is likely that No No Mac and The Tourard Man will be right up with the pace, closely followed by Belmont.

The Tourard Man has taken well to fences and considering he was rated as high as 139 over the hurdles, I think he is on a very workable mark for his handicap debut over the larger obstacles.
