Weekly Update

Reaching the Pinnacle…

...is exactly what the homonymously named Pinnacle Racing Tips did over the last fortnight according to the Geegeez System Trials Roundup to 24/10/2017.

They were the clear stand-out top performer over the last fortnight (more on this shortly), which saw our 10 active reviews lose a combined £86.63 and as usual there were winners (4 of them) and losers (6 of them), so let's start with the winners!

1. Top of the shop were the afore-mentioned Pinnacle Racing Tips with fortnightly profit of some £627.91, taking the overall profit for this service's review (read that here) beyond the £1300 mark in 52 days of action and all acheived at an ROI not far shy of 50%.

2. Next up was the £253.63 achieved by Target Tips, who in all fairness didn't have a great first half of their review, but more than cleared their losses in the last fortnight and at the two-thirds marker of their trial now have an ROI of almost 6.7%. That doesn't sound amazing, but recent progress has been excellent.

3. Third on the money list this fortnight comes the ultra-consistent 1pt a day machine Back & Win (Fire & Forget), who went 11/11 again and their review now shows 45pts profit in 45 days. The interesting bit will be if they have a losing day and how much that costs.

4. And our final moneymaker, last but not least etc, was Flat Flyers. Now they may well have only made £54.16 over the fortnight (documented here), but that was (a) just 3 days action and (b) enough to take them out of the red, so a decent fortnight for this occasional service.

And this fortnight's losers?

1. The worst result came from Sequence Lays, whose 23 selections actually found 10 race winners, so it will come of little surprise to read that they lost another £298.83 this time around : click here to see how that unfolded.

2. What might, however, be a surprise is that the high-flying Sports Spread Betting was our second worst performer over the fortnight, handing back some £220.80 to the traders, but in the interests of fairness, I should point out that this review still shows a very healthy profit of almost 800pts in 49 days of action.

3. Next on the roll of dishonour comes the much maligned Rod's Runners, whose losses of £216.50 over the last two weeks takes their cumulative deficit to almost £775.00 (see here), but whilst that looks absolutely terrible (and it is a lot of money), it actually amounts to just over 8% of stakes and we've seen far worse before. That said, this one does continue to aim at quantity over quality and that we can't condone/excuse.

4. It was also a tricky time for First Class Fancies, who followed up last fortnight's near £145 loss with another £191.20 and our review shows the latest setback came from just 3 days of action : so this one is clearly struggling.

5. Stablemate Back Lucrative was also in the red this time around, shipping £125.00 in the process, ensuring that it was a pretty glum fortnight for followers of this particular portfolio. A detailed breakdown of the selections is right here.

6. And our final note is about Platinum Winners, who unlike our headline act, aren't doing what it says on the tin. They're not really finding winners and with the latest £80.00 loss taking them past the £400 deficit at almost half of all stakes invested, this review seems full of fools gold rather than platinum!

So how does all this affect the overall standings?

As usual, clicking the name of a service takes you straight to their home page, whilst there are links to every review above.

Now, it doesn't take a genius to work out that I'm highly impressed with both Sports Spread Betting and Pinnacle Racing Tips despite the former's recent setback. I think these are perfect for a portfolio as they are so very different in terms of how they approach selections and risk and no doubt I'll be talking more about these next time.

I'm still unsure about about Back & Win (Fire & Forget), even though they're now 45/45 for the trial. Apparently losing days are as rare as hen's teeth or a Bolton away win, but I'd be interested to see how damage a loss does to the figures, so I'm fence sitting here for now.

As for ones to swerve, that's also pretty clear. I'm not a fan of laying services personally, as I find it difficult to want a horse to lose for financial gain, but mainly because I find the risk/rewards ratios all wrong and as Sequence Lays is showing, it's far too easy to get it wrong and lose money.

And this now brings us to the two backing services in the bottom three.

Our review of the struggling Rod's Runners service has attracted lots of attention/criticism from our readers, but to reiterate what I've said before, we can be blinded by the financial loss as £775 is a hell of a lot of money to lose in 57 days of betting. But at losses of just over 8% of stakes, the amount of selections is the problem here. There's just too much going on and it doesn't inspire confidence and as a result we can't defend it.

What I would say finally about Rod's Runners is that it isn't (in my opinion) the worst service we're currently reviewing as that "honour" falls to Platinum Winners who have now lost almost half of all stakes invested and whilst some tweaks to the selection process at Rod's Runners might bring a change in fortune, I'm afraid that I see little hope for Platinum Winners.

Thanks for reading, I'm back with more in a fortnight,

Chris
