The champion jockey of last season, Ryan Moore, could be out for the whole York Ebor festival, after being sidelined with an injury to his wrist, after coming off Rocket Rob last Monday night at Windsor.
X-rays have shown he did not suffer any broken bones, but as the wrist is still swollen and causing some soreness, he is forgoing his rides scheduled for this weekend with the hopes of recovering enough for York.
Sir Michael Stoute has jotted down Kieren Fallon for three outings on the last day of the meeting and Olivier Peslier to take over Total Command in the Sportingbet.com Great Voltigeur on Tuesday, after it was confirmed that Moore will not be aboard. Fallon will also be the probably rider on Kingsgate Native in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.
Managing director of Cheveley Park Stud who own Kingsgate Native, Chris Richardson, said, "With Ryan likely to be unavailable, Sir Michael wanted a jockey who has ridden for us many times.
"Kingsgate Native is in as good a shape as he was before his win at Haydock. He's proven at this level and has been aimed at the race."
