Hi, i did a placepot today at my local william hill bookies which i thought had gone down at newbury and threw my betting slip away in the bin at the betting shop, came home and decided to check what it had paid and noticed my horse was a none runner on the leg of the meeting i thought i had gone down on and the fav in the race had got placed so essentially my placepots a winning one, its for £400+, i was wondering if anyone else had ever done this and what happens now, can i still make a claim and if not what happens to the money

      Hi lickybits

You should still be able to claim, though I imagine you’ll need to be able to reproduce the ticket when making the claim. If they know you in the shop and this is your normal betting style, then it ought to be more straightforward.

I’d ring the Hills customer service line in the first instance: 0800 085 6296 (I think)

      Good luck!

      Matt
