Stat Of The Day

SotD Update, 7th to 12th March 2016

Well, I'm not sure where/how to start this one!

Perhaps, in true Geegeez style, open honesty will continue to be the best policy. Six selections, no winners, 6pts lost. Ouch, that hurts, but that's about the sum of it and some of you will only take that away from the week's activity.

On Thursday after seeing four successive runners-up, I was looking back at a run of nine placers in a row that yielded just one winner and I wasn't too downcast and hopefully, some of you will agree that we're nearly there. We're beating most of our race rivals and we're beating SP most of the time (5 of 6 times week!), but we're just not hitting the winners.

I'm not convinced it's the weather or the jumps racing, as some have suggested, nor was last summer's success a flash in the pan, as a couple of emailers have told me. This last few months have been awful, but the MO remains the same and I'm confident that keeping the faith allied to good bank management will reap its rewards for those sticking with it. I've always advocated a 50pt bank and nobody should have run out of funds just yet.

I agree with your MO and your long term stats bear out there hasn’t been any flashes in the pan. If it’s any comfort it’s not been a great winter for a few I also follow, and yes, reasons to pinpoint that vary, weather and poor weekday fare are cited and may well be true, very hard to pinpoint single factors. I could have packed up in October and come back now for what I’ve achieved being a portfolio tipster follower this winter and it has crossed my mind to do so next year just to have a breather, things certainly do seem to be better in the summer and on good ground, but that’s in no way a criticism of anyone, it’s a bloody hard game, just mindful of costs incurred, however I’m reminded of other ‘investments’ i’ve done ok on in the past, and there are never straight upward lines on the graph, so it’s the same here, a decent betting bank to allow preservation of capital in line with disciplined staking plans are essential for what is always a long term game, and never get rich quick if get rich at all even, but I know the good times last summer certainly made a difference to my day to day standard of living, and we enjoyed some fun on the back of it! Keep on keeping on Chris.
